{Klayton's p.o.v.}

I was at my buddy's club sitting at the bar drinking my pain away from my girlfriend of almost 2 years finally decided I was old-fashioned and wanted more in her life than me, so I was alone and she was with her ugly ass new boy toy Devon, because he had a better paying job than I did and a cool car.As for me, all I had was a motorcycle, and a job working for an elderly colored man working as a mechanic in his car shop. But at night I worked at my blood brother's club doing what I did best, making insanely awesome music to make everyone want to get up and move to my beats. But not today...today I was being more of the suffering and silent type...and becoming quite intoxicated before noon...and just as a warning I didn't make a good drunk at all.

I was either a complete and total idiot or the meanest bastard on the planet and just wanted to kick anyone's ass that got in my face...but luckily for me, no one was at my buddy's club yet...except for him, but I loved and respected my buddy too much to ever try fighting with him. Even though I knew I could kick his ass, I just never had the wants to. I was getting ready to keel off my seventh shot of tequila when I heard a girl screaming for help. I jumped and fumbled off of my barstool and ran out the side door, where I heard the screams coming from...and that was the first time I saw her.

She was fighting off three local thugs that just wanted to have some fun with her, but she showed them real quick that she wasn't in the mood to play...after she fought them off and hurt one of them, they decided it wasn't fun anymore, and they decided to hurt her back. I sobered up very quickly and told them to back the fuck off unless they wanted to get seriously fucked up by me. The girl looked up at me with a slightly shocked look, I couldn't really tell if she was shocked at my dramatic entrance and rescue attempt, or if she was shocked by my appearance, but I would just ignore it until after she was safe. I was doing more than good when they decided to attack me instead of run, but I was so hoping for a fight, just to relieve some of the anger I had holed up in my system from that bitch dumping me.

After I cleaned their plows for them, I slowly approached her and held out my hand for her, and asked her if she was alright. When she hesitantly reached out for my hand, and I hauled her to her feet, A very large black rat crawled down her arm and ran up mine...I quickly grabbed it and was getting ready to give it a toss, when she grabbed him from me and said that he belonged to her. It refreshingly caught me off guard, for I never met a girl yet that actually wasn't afraid or disgusted of rodents. I apologized to her and asked her what her little friend's name was as I stroked his head a little. She smiled down at him and said his name was Ben, from the movie Willard. I smiled at her and told her that I loved that movie.

After I made sure she was alright I offered her to come into the club for a drink and to calm down after her slight scare. I kept looking at her after she sat down, with Ben sitting on her shoulder making loud squeaks to her...she reached toward the peanut dish on the table and cracked one open and handed him one of the peanuts. She was absolutely gorgeous, but I knew by her appearance and dress code that she wasn't from this side of town. I handed her a glass of water and asked her where she was from, just to see if she would converse with me. After she took a few sips then put some into her straw and put the end of it to her rat she slowly let go of the other end of it to give Ben a few drinks, she said she was from the far north side of the city on the other side of the river bridge.

I gave a whistle and said she was one of the real uptown girls, then I leaned toward her and asked her what she was doing in these parts...and added that it wasn't safe for her to be wandering around just to sightsee. She sat up straight and got defensive really quickly and said that she could do whatever she wanted to. Then she looked down and said she ran away from home, because she was tired of all the rich and pompous arrogance of the rich heartless and emotionaless snobs that lived around her...and that she wanted to find something more, something better, then she looked up at me and said anything would be better than what she was stuck with where she lived, as she emotionally gave her rat a few pets then kissed to him and he moved his face right to her so she could give him a kiss on his head.

I kept looking at her rat and said she had him trained pretty good, she smiled a little bit and said that Ben was very smart, but she and Ben were both sad, because he lost his brothers last night...that her father killed them, just to teach her a lesson...but he didn't get Ben, and she would never let anyone hurt him. I told her I was sorry for her and Ben's loss, then asked her what their names were. But I should have known they would be all names from the movie, except for the one that was named Splinters. Then there was Willard and Socrates. I couldn't get over at how cute she was...especially with her connection with that furry little rodent...which to most people he was nothing more than a varmint or pest...but to her he was her friend.
