The loud knock was followed by groaning from Ashton's side. He furiously walked towards the door to break it open before being shocked.

There between the door frame was Cara, standing completely shocked and troubled. She trailed her eyes at me and obviously noticed my messy hair. There was something so familiar in her eyes that I knew so well, as if I could feel every inch of her burning body, something akin to immeasurable pain. I gave her a sad smile and the first tear trailed down her beautiful face.

Flashback

"He truly did say that to me." I spoke in a low lifeless voice.
"I don't believe you, bitch, how could you say that, he's the most trustful person I know" she sneered.

"Sorry, but he said that. I'm speaking the truth, no matter what you think of me. I don't care, but I do care about you."

She narrowed her eyes," lies. You hurt me so many times and tried to put me down. How could I possibly trust you?" She asked.

"Because what seems to be a fact , isn't always the truth." I softly whispered with my head tilted down staring at the floor.

End of flashback

"Shit, I -I can ex-"
"No." she growled.
His facial expression changed again
"Actually, I don't have to explain anything to you! You tried to seduce and sleep with Jaxon!"he said and I gasped and she looked at him with her flabbergasted state.

" What!? Are you crazy, I would never do that to you!"

"Yeah right." He fake snorted.
Now she was  helplessly crying.

"You don't even have that much faith in me?" She whispered.

He looked at her for a couple of seconds before something glinted and flashed in his eyes troubling his tense body. He cursed under his breath,        " Shit. I- I'm so sorry, love. I-I thought that he was speaking the truth because he is my best friend  ,I trust him .... But"

"No, I don't want to hear anything" she sternly said.
"Please, Cara, believe me. Please forgive me." He pleaded holding his hands out and  moving them for emphasis.

She closed her eyes as she silently let her tears fall, completely broken and tarnished from the feeling of deceit coming from someone she loves so very much.

He dropped to his knees and hugged her stomach to his head. He whimpered and cried out to stop her as I looked at him with rounded eyes. I had never see him so vulnerable and helpless, so scared and sad.
He chocked on his sob and gasped for air, the breathlessness stunning me to silence.

Cara bunched her fingers into his hair and placed a hand over his shoulder to slightly push him away, while crying with a closed mouth. He wouldn't let go. He held on tighter and trembled ," Please Cara, don't leave me."

He snuggled further into her chanting her name and repeatedly saying sorry.
His back violently shook and I saw a glimpse of his bloodshot eyes and red face looking so desperate, as if his life depended on her decision.

He never seemed to me as the one who would in a  saddening fall to his knees and openly beg for forgiveness.
Then I realised, was he hiding  his true self all this time? Does he perhaps have the same insecurity as I do? The person who didn't give a care about me was capable to love someone that much? Does everyone have a secretive side - nobody knows about?

It felt wrong seeing this strange, personal, sight between two people who seemed to have grown so close that they could not bear losing each other . I sniffed, trying to control my blurry vision and walked towards the door behind Cara.

I looked at her and she looked at me with similar bloodshot, puffy eyes. Her grey eyes caused my heart to throb in unexpected ways, just because they resembled his silvery , grey and  stormy eyes.

"Cara." I managed to mumble and saw him peer over his lashes to look at me with hatred and at the same time in plea , to stop me from ruining their relationship even more.

When he noticed my teary stained  face, he was surprised.
I looked back at her , " You should forgive him." I whispered.
I looked back at him, his eyes wide and stunned, and tried my best to give a small  broken smile.

"He loves you too much."
