Hospital Room 48

Two Lines

I had thrown on some clothes and walked to the nearest Chemist.

Ever since Ethan has gone, I've been empty.

I haven't seen Grayson, or Lucy, or Cameron or Lisa and Sean.

I was only worried about Grayson because I didn't want him to take his life.

I brought the thing I came for and went home to take the test.

Yes.

Pregnancy test.

I missed my period and have been throwing up.

I sat on the toilet and took the test.

I was pregnant.

I walked into my bedroom before breaking down.

"WHAT DO I DO NOW ETHAN?" I sobbed.

I immediately felt Ethan's presence.

I looked at the mirror and saw a ghost of Ethan hugging me.

I blinked quickly and he was gone.

I felt comforted.

I drove to Lisa and Sean's house.

"Lauren." Lisa said opening the door. She had obviously been sobbing her eyes out.

We stood in the kitchen in a tight embrace.

"Your the first person to come and see me after." She didn't finish her sentence because we both new.

When we finished I pulled the test out my handbag and put it in her hands.

She then broke down crying again hard.

"MY BABY WAS GOING TO BE A DADDY!" She screamed crying. She let out the loudest cry and hugged me desperately.

"DID HE KNOW?!" She asked,

I shook my head. "I just found out."

"MY ETHAN WAS GOING TO BE DADDY AND HE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW!"

She snapped the pregnancy stick in anger and threw it at the wall.

"MY GRANDCHILDREN AREN'T GOING TO KNOW THEIR DADDY. ETHAN ISN'T GOING TO BE ABLE TO SEE THEM GROW UP THIS ISN'T FAIR!" She cried at the top of her lungs.

Sean appeared in the kitchen doorway and hugged Lisa.

"Lauren, I think it's best you come back when Lisa has calmed down." Sean said.

"I WON'T EVER CALM DOWN. I GOT MY BABY TAKEN AWAY AFTER ONLY SEVENTEEN YEARS AND HE WAS GOING TO  BE A DADDY BUT DIDN'T EVEN KNOW!"

I left the house.

I cried as I walked back to the flat.

I called Grayson.

He picked up.

"Hey, Lauren." He had clearly been crying.

"Meet me at my place in five minutes."

"Lauren, I'm a mess." Grayson cried.

"So am I, come over."

So he did.

We sat on the sofa hugging desperate to feel some comfort.

"Lucy broke up with me. She says it's just a reminder of Ethan. She's moving to Australia to escape everything."

"I'm sorry Grayson."

"It's not fully kicked in yet but I know it will and it will hard."

We were silent.

"Grayson."

"Yeah."

"I'm pregnant."

He sat up and looked at me.

He swore.

He then ran his hands through his hair.

He broke down crying and left the flat.

I let him go.

I was pregnant with Ethan's baby.

Ethan.

I could feel his sense around me and once again in the mirrors.

Ghost Ethan was there with his arms wrapped around me.
