Sophie couldn't sleep. She rolled around in her bed with dark purple covers before getting up. "I need food." She mumbled in her faint voice that James loved. She opened her door and quietly crept down the stairs, careful not to wake Draco or Astoria.
She got to the kitchen, screaming at just one glance. He mother must've done the same thing as Sophie, but worse must've happened to Astoria. She lay on the floor, passed out. Sophie thought for certain something bad was to happen.
"MUM!" She screamed. She broke into tears and heard Draco race her way. "DAD!" She screamed as he came her way.
"SOPHIA!" He yelled as he ran to her. He bent down by Astoria and looked horrified. "Sophia," he said turning to her. "Go up to my room and get my healer jacket, then apparate to the hospital. Now!" He yelled. She nodded and ran up to his room and Draco apparated with Astoria in his arms.
Sophie grabbed his jacket and apparated as quickly as she could, looking around. She saw people looking Draco's way and he saw her on a stretcher with healers around her. Before she saw more, they ran Astoria into a room, Sophie clueless of what had happened. She sat down on the couch right behind her, looking traumatized.
Only moments later Draco came back out and saw her. He walked over to her and took his uniform, as she had grabbed a shirt, tie, and pants for him. "Thank you, sweetheart." He said kissing her forehead.
"Daddy... what happened... to mum?" She asked with fear.
Draco hesitated. "Mum... Mum isn't doing so well lately. She's been pretty bad. And her blood isn't doing do good. She must've... her blood wasn't working very well when it happened. Luckily, you found her quickly, so she got help quicker." Draco said honestly.
"Is mum gonna die?" Sophie asked with a tear down her eyes. Draco thought and then sighed.
"Don't think about that right now," Draco said, but they both knew she would.
"Malfoy." One of the healers said opening the door.
"She wants you." They called. He turned his head and nodded.
"Give me a second," Draco replied. He turned to Sophie and kissed her cheek. "It'll be OK, baby." He said after she sniffed and had tears fell down her eyes. She shook her head.
"No, it won't." She replied. He sighed and walked away.
James woke up and sat up quickly. He hit his head on the wall doing so. "OW!" He shouted. He suddenly had a tempting feeling, and without a second thought, he ran to the fireplace and went to the hospital. Seeing Sophie.
"Soph!" He shouted.
"James?" She mumbled turning to him.
"What are you doing here?" She asked as he sat next to her. "I felt something was wrong. And this was the place to-to be!" James said quickly. She hugged him.
"I think this is my mum's last night." Sophie cried into his shoulder. His eyes grew wide.
They spent minutes together, not speaking, but James comforting her. "Will you get Sophia?" Astoria asked Draco. He nodded.
"Of course, my love," Draco told her.
"If James is there by any means, bring him too. She'll need him." Astoria said in her dying voice. He nodded.
"OK." He replied.
He saw Sophie and walked to her. "Sweetheart, your mum wants to see you," Draco told her. He looked up at James. "She wants you in there too," Draco said to James.
