Sophie and James were fifteen. She was still a good girl, but James got into trouble a lot, being a teenager. "James, you know you're not allowed to go out tonight," Ginny called as James opened the door. James paused.
"I don't care." He said, shutting the door. Ginny sighed She couldn't control three kids. Albus was thirteen and didn't have a good relationship with Harry, making him always rely on her, and Lily was eleven. She walked outside.
"James can you please just listen to me?" Ginny pleaded.
"Mum, I don't see what your deal is. I'm going to see Sophie." James stated. She sighed.
"That poor girl."
"Meaning?"
"Meaning... meaning go do whatever you want. Get arrested for all I know. I'm giving up with three children."
He went to a diner where he and Sophie were meeting up. As they sat together, he knew what he had to tell her. "Soph, there's... news going around." He said.
"What news?" She asked as she took a drink of their chocolate milkshake they shared.
"Well... death eaters have been spotted... most of them are Malfoy's. They're kind of... coming after you" He said slowly and honestly, his eyes not meeting hers.
"That's... irrelevant." She said honestly. "That is scary, but I can protect myself. I have you and Katie and my dad. What else do I need?" She asked.
"But what if... what if something happens? What if something... bad happens. And you aren't OK?" He asked. She paused. "Soph... they're after me too. And I want us always together. For safety. That's why I wanna... extend the unbreakable vow. To later. Maybe... seventh year. For all we know, we could be seventy and still be in danger." He stated.
"We could still be in danger and not know it." She said. He nodded.
"Yeah, I know." He said. "But I think that you and I should be together for a long time." He said nodding. "I have something for you actually." He said with a grin.
"What?" She asked.
"Well, I wanted to take you here because our anniversary of us meeting is September 1st. So, we went here a week before every year." He pulled out a ring. "It's a promise ring. Promise me that someday we'll get married." He said. She nodded.
"I will." She said faintly. She leaned in and kissed his lips for a long moment.
After they left, they walked on the street together.
"I'm still shocked at how you're not as concerned about this as I am." He said walking backward and not paying attention.
"Um... we might have other stuff to worry about?" She suggested shrugging. "You're gonna trip." She stated.
"Nah," he said shaking his head. Right after, he tripped backward, Sophie laughing. "Shut up." He murmured and smiling lightly.
Right after she laughed, she found someone eyeing her. James stood up. "Jamie... I think we should go." She said tugging his arm lightly.
"Why?" He asked as he caught up with her speed walking.
"Someone's watching us." She said quickly.
"Who?"
"Death Eater. That's all I know." She said as she rushed with James at her side.
She took him to an alleyway. "What?" He asked. "There's death eaters, James. That's what." She said quickly.
"I... I-"
"Nothing, James." She stated. "It's getting late. I've gotta go home. My dad might be worried. I'm past curfew-"
