Thanks for the character. Jeffery belongs to Mathb0y
My cousin wrote most of this one, because I was drawing a compleate blank. So, it might be very different from previous chapters. But, thanks to Aaron, you have your chapter! Enjoy!
I woke up in a cold sweat, my breathing was heavy and I couldn't see straight. I sat up, and waited to get my vision back. I looked at the time, the clock was blurry and spinning. It stopped after a while, I checked the time. 4:23 am. Great, I always wake up before my alarm. I got up and unplugged my phone, I didn't mind checking it, I knew I had on notifications. I opened pandora and headed to the bathroom. "Try" by Simple Plan, started playing and I turned on the shower. This apartment was really cheap, so the shower was always cold, I didn't mind so much anymore. I never liked hot showers anyway.
I took a little longer in the shower, my brain went in every which way. I couldn't think straight, I needed to clean my mind before going to work. I got out of the shower after about 20 minutes, I dried my hair. I hated my hair, it was so difficult and blonde. (Nothing against blondes!) I tried to dye it so many times, it never stayed though. I put my hair in a ponytail, and walked back to my room. I changed into my ripped jeans and put on a white tank top. I grabbed my hoodie and put it on, even though it was supposed to be 90 degrees. I put on my boots and checked the time again 5:02 am. I grabbed my keys and headed my job, I wasn't supposed to be there until 6:00 am but I liked reading something and hanging out alone before it opens.
I got to The Hole In The Wall, it was 5:37 am, I had 23 minutes till the store opened. I walked inside and picked up Talking To Death I've been reading this for about a week now, I really like it. I sat down on a bean bag in the back of the store. The Hole In The Wall has a cool reading area, it's got a couple bean bag chairs, gamer chairs, and like some weird spider web chairs. It's nice to be back there when its quiet and there's no kids here playing around cause they were forced to be here. I sat there quietly and read Talking To Death. 5:59 am rolled around and my co-worker, Jack walked in. He opened up shop and I put my book back and walked up to the front of the store.
"Morning, Jeff." Jack said. He waved happily and went in the back to check on the bookshelves.
I didn't say anything, I never do. He stopped waiting for me to answer a while ago, it feels nice when he greets me so nicely, I feel bad for not answering. I go sit at the register and pull out Talking To Death and start reading while I wait for customers.
Customers trickled in and out, when kids were brought in, I'd have to go back to the reading area and clean up after they left. I did that 3 times, the day was slow and boring. Jack and I took a lunch break, and closed the shop for a little while. I bought a soda and got an apple out of the fruit bowl Jack refills everyday.
"Are you going to eat anything else?" Jack asked.
"No. I'm not that hungry." I replied.
I sat down, on the other side of the room and looked through my phone. I got up to go the bathroom after I finished my apple. I looked at mirror real quick, I quickly looked back to the mirror. I forgot my contacts, I looked into the mirror, I signed heavily. My yellow eyes, looked back at me. The light of the bathroom reflected off of them making look golden. The lights started to flicker slightly, I walked out of the bathroom, Jack wasn't in the break room anymore. I walked out into the store, he wasn't there either. I looked around for him, instead there was this girl with really curly dark brown hair. I dreaded having to talk to her.
"Excuse me." I said. In tapped on her shoulder, she spun around rather quickly."We're closed right now. You might want to come back later."
She looked at me for a while, her yellow eyes looked golden and sparkled like gems. I felt kinda jealous, my looked as though I was a demon and hers looked like shinned gold.
"Sorry, I was just hiding from someone." She responded.
"It's okay. Just for next time, if there is one." I said. I went to turn around and walk away."Actually, have you seen another guy here, kinda tall, brown hair, green eyes, wearing acid washed jeans and a graphic t-shirt. He has some piercings and a tattoo on his neck and arms?"
"No, I haven't, why?" She asked.
"He's my co-worker, he disappeared earlier." I replied.
"Oh, want me to help you look?" She asked."Oh, I'm Hazel, by the way."
"Ummm......Sure....."I said. Why in the world did I say that.
Hazel started walking around with me, it stayed quiet and awkward between us, I guess that's my fault though. We looked in the back again, in the reading area, knocked on the bathroom door, checked outside, and even upstairs in the owners office. Jack was just gone, like he disappeared into thin air. I sighed heavily, if Jack was gone, I'd have to run the store by myself.
"Are you okay?" Hazel asked me.
"Yeah, just dreading having to run the store by myself." I replied.
"Oh...." Hazel said.
Suddenly, the door flew open.
"Hazel! We lost him!"
"How could we lose him again? I thought you said the plan was foul-proof, Thalia." A girl walked over from the door. She had short, spiky black hair with striking blue eyes. She had black jeans with chains and a silver parka. A silver circlet was placed on her head.
"It was. Until the Stolls saw a prank store and decided to get some supplies instead of catching him."
"Again?"
"Yes. Annabeth is lecturing them now."
Hazel winced. "We better go save them."
Thalia glanced over at me. "Who's this?"
"He works here."
"I'm pretty sure the other worker, Jack, was taken by him."
"Wait wait wait. You're telling me Jack was kidnapped?!" I exclaimed, it sounded more monotone then I wanted it to.
"I think so. But don't worry, we're after the kidnapper. Jack will be back soon." Hazel said calmly. Oh my god. Jack was kidnapped!
"We better go, Hazel. Don't want him to get to far ahead." Thalia reminded.
"We'll bring Jack back. Don't worry." Hazel soothed, before they both ran out the door.

The next day, Jack was at work. He didn't mention it, so neither did I. I noticed Jack acted a lot differently, he didn't greet me like normal when he walked in. I guessed that would happen, but I still felt a little sad about. The rest of the day was pretty normal, no strange girls ran into the store. I had finally finished Talking To Death, it was a good day nonetheless.
A.N. I'm sorry! It's been forever since I've updated. I didn't have my computer this summer, so I couldn't write for this. This character was also giving me a hard time. I finally asked my cousin for help earlier this week, and he and I (mostly him) got it done within a couple days. But I hope you enjoyed it and I'll try to update soon.
