a day in july

We walked along the beach,

So warm it could cover you with an invisible blanket of warmth

We talked,

As friends do.

That's all we ever did,

we walked, talked and gawked at each other.

We ate popsicles, carelessly,

like a tigress licking her cubs.

That day was a good day,

it could’ve gone on forever and ever.

All I wanted was to stay there,

under the Marigold sun,

on that beautiful beach,

In warm and sunny British Columbia,

forever.
