I woke up the next day with a pounding headache.
I went downstairs to find my big brother Darry was reading the newspaper.
It was Sunday.
I grabbed a blank sheet of paper on the table and wrote on it,
"Head is hurting and we have to get ready for church"
Darry smiled while reading it.
He said while finding Tylenol, "Hunny, Pony and Soda are getting ready.
But I cannot go. I have a very serious business calling today."
I popped the Tylenol into my mouth and gulped it down with water.
Darry kissed my temple and said, "I've got to drop you off in an hour so go get ready."
I ran upstairs to find one of my cutest dresses that I have.
I firmly and tightly slipped it on admiring its shine and beautifulness.
After I finished getting dressed, Ponyboy walked in.
He asked, "Are you ready for church, Lollipop?"
I looked up:
I smiled nodding getting up and held his hand.
He smiled down at me as we walked down the stairs together.
Soda and Pony were all dressed in their nice suit and ties.
Soda smiled and said, "You look just like mom."
I looked on the right side of me to see my reflection.
I smiled and said in my head I do.
I miss mommy.
I miss her award winning smile, her rosy cheeks, her singing around the house, her cooking, and even cleaning.
She was a clean freak, but I loved that.
We were the only two women in the house but now it's just me.
Why did she have to go so soon?
At Church...
When we finally arrived, Darry dropped us off at the curb.
He said to Pony and Johnny, "I'll come back around noon."
Pony nodded and said, "See you then, Darry."
I kept thinking about my classes.
