Chapter 4: The 13th Zodiac Sign

nother day at this realm that is so-called purgatory.

I looked at the list that Haily gave me again. The schedule of my classes was written there.

Schedule of Classes

8:00 to 9:00 Celestial spirits and their abilities

9:00 to 10:00 The Study of Afterlife Academy

10:00 to 12:00 The Study of Different Demons and Souls

12:00 to 1:00 Afternoon feast

1:00 to 2:30 Rules and Regulations

I closed the schedule list and started to get ready. I took a bath and ate food that I found in my table. I looked at the uniform that I am supposed to wear. Well, I got to admit. Their uniforms here are prettier than at the human world.

The uniform is black in color. The top is designed as a blouse type with a long clothing that is worn above that falls down up to the knees, a skirt that lengths higher than the knee and long socks. Every garment has ruffles on the ends which made it look cuter and a lining of gold. At the right side of the top a white cross is embroidered.

I wore the uniform and started to get ready for school.

I walked on the way to Afterlife academy. I didn't expect to see a lot of other humans who were also enrolled in this school. I saw people wearing the same uniform.

"Hi! You're new here?" A stranger suddenly went beside me and asked.

It's a boy with almost the same tallness as Pyro. He also has fair skin and a slender body.

I nodded in response. I don't really know how to react to friendly people because I have been bullied since kindergarten.

He smiled at me. "May I ask, what is your ability?" He asked while looking at me.

"Uhhh... They say I'm the Ladder of Souls." I said awkwardly because I don't even have the slightest idea on what do to to save a soul or even talk to one.

"Whoa! So you're the maiden everyone was talking about." He said with a surprised expression.

"May I ask, what is your ability as well?" I asked him because I'm curious to what kind of people are in here.

He looked upward. "Uhh... Oh! I can hear voices of the dead. People in the human world think I'm insane. They won't believe that I'm perfectly fine. They won't believe that there are really spirits telling me things." He said. Oh he is another victim of bullying.

"I'm Lynx by the way. And you are?" "Iesha but you can call me Ivy." I answered. "It's nice to meet you Ivy." He said then smiled again.

Actually, come to think of it he is too handsome to receive bullies. Maybe he was just doubted or the people he knows thinks he was making a joke. Maybe he isn't really a victim of bullying as well.

We both continued chatting as we went to our classroom. I think he knows where it is. Maybe this isn't his first time here.

We sat on our sit along with the others. He doesn't look surprised at all of this but he is still smiling. After a few minutes the teacher came in. We all stood up and greeted the teacher.

"Good morning students. I will be your teacher on Celestial Spirits and their Abilities. I'm Madam Layla or Libra." She said.

"The first thing you should know about the zodiac signs is that there are a total of 12 zodiac signs. I know humans from the human world know this so can someone please name them to me one by one."

My fellow students raised their hands quickly to answer the question asked.

"Excellent! Everybody got all the correct answers. To repeat them, the 12 zodiac signs are Aries, Leo, Capricorn, Virgo, Aquarius, Libra, Taurus, Scorpio, Pisces, Gemini, Cancer, and Sagittarius."

Lynx suddenly raised his hand.

"Yes dear. What do you want to ask?" asked the teacher.

"Ma'am, isn't there a 13th zodiac sign?" He asked curiously to the teacher.

The teacher looked at him and looked like she was trying to construct something to say to explain it to us.

"The 13th zodiac sign is a myth that no one knows if it's true or not. Ophiuchus is its name and that zodiac sign is known for the sign of a snake. Other than that information, nothing more is known."

I became curious to whether or not it is true. Even the 12 zodiac signs themselves cannot tell whether it is true or not. I wonder what he looks like.

"To continue our discussion, we will proceed to the abilities of each zodiac sign."

"Leo is the first zodiac sign. He is known to protect, and guide the other zodiac signs. He can transform into a lion or a cat to disguise himself in the human world." The teacher said and wrote the main details.

"Aries, she is known to bring calmness and prosperity to people she touches with her hand. She has two sides, the peaceful one and the fierce one. Trust me, you won't like it when she gets mad. She can transform into a sheep or a ram in the human world."

"Capricorn, he is known to offend and defend side by side with Cancer, Taurus and Sagittarius. He can transform to a goat in the human world." "Cancer can turn into a huge lobster, Taurus can turn into a bull and Sagittarius can turn into an archer." She continued to discuss.

"I will only discuss these 6 zodiac signs for now because we are out of time. Class dismissed."
