Hello, Tip #3 - Descriptions

I feel like it's safe to say that covers and descriptions both play an extremely large role in the number of readers that click on your book.

I can't say how many times I've been scrolling through Wattpad and I see an interesting title and cover, but the description literally just says that the person sucks at writing them so they just skip out on it (E1). If you're a writer, then you should be practicing on writing everything - from prologues to chapters to descriptions. And, if it doesn't say something about the author being bad at descriptions, it'll say something basic about the character, but not really giving you any insight as to what the book might be about (E2).

When writing descriptions, you wanna look for key elements that'll really hook the reader. You wanna give a glimpse into the book, but only enough to hook the reader and get them to read it, and not giving out too much information (E3). The description should be something that you take time on instead of skipping over like some people do.

E1: *sorry, guys, but I'm really bad at descriptions so I'm not gonna write anything here*

E2: Lena is a 17 year old girl and she goes to high school and she's facing a bunch of struggles.

E3: Being a teenager is hard enough, but Lena is barely hanging onto a string as she makes her way through life. And with the threatening scissors of society about to cut her last hope of sanity, how will she make it through?

"I don't want to do this anymore," Lena cries out to herself. Though there was no one around her, she still saw her dead mother standing in front of her and stroking her hair like she used to do. "I can't do this, mom." Her voice was barely above a whisper now.
