There was snow on the ground, mixed with blood and grass. Flames engulfed the buildings that surround me, blood curdling screams could be heard around the village. I sat in the middle of it all, snow gently falling onto my face, blood seemingly falling from the sky as my home was razed.
I was in the middle of my village, powerless and frozen in fear. Time seemed to move slowly as people were slaughtered by the ax and hand. It was only when my mother was dragged out by her hair and killed infront of me does my hellish landscape change.
I was in a dark and moist dungeon, lit faintly with candles, my surroundings was painted in blood, the ground was scratchy by how much dried blood there was.
There were hanging bodies that bled into pots below, other victims, chained and frightened along the hall, their wails can be heard echoing throughout tha faintly lit dark. Blood curdling screams would sound out in symphony, marking their final breath.
I was chained, captured, a slave, a prisoner, food. I'd blink once more, and my scenery would change to figures standing over me with a bright light shining down and murmurs that echoed.
Pain shoot through my body as I seemed to fade in and out of reality. I'd watch as hunks of organs were taken out of my body, then other organs put back in to replace what they took. Id grit my teeth in pain, clenching my hands tightly. My head would tilt to the side, seeing a woman with white hair and a black robe mouthing words. However, her voice seemed to not reach. Eventually, her voice said, "Wake up... wake up, Grey, " she would faintly say.
Eventually, I'd shoot up from my bed, breathing heavily and clutching my chest. I'd close my eyes tightly, blinking a couple of times to see if im away from that hellscape. "Grey...?" A voice would call, and I'd turn quickly toward the noise. The girl who stood at the door of my room jumped slightly.
Yuki Cross, my seragit sister. I'd lower my head again, placing my hands over my face. "You were tossing and turning in your sleep... another nightmare?" She would ask me. I didn't answer for a couple of seconds. Instead, I stood up and stretched, looking to my closet, and getting dressed into my school uniform.
I'd look back to her and she was blushing slightly as I took off my shirt and I waved her off "something to that extent" I would reply, grabbing my school uniform and the arm band, signifying that I was part of the disciplinary committee, and a guardian of the school I reside at.
She was silent as if she didn't particularly know what to say, and I stared at the weapon in my closet, a hunters weapon for killing vampires. "Uhm, father made breakfest" she would say to me as I grabbed a belt sheath, putting it on and fitting the sword into the sheath, then obscured it into the loosely fit uniform, and I'd nod in response.
I'd turn toward her, walking to the exit of my room, stopping in front of her and looking down. She continued to remain silent as if trying to guess how to interact with me. "Is it happening again..?" She would ask me.
I would scoff in response, gesturing with my head to move out of the way. "Something to that extent... Still rather vivid" I would say to her and she would move out of the way. We would then walk down the hall of our residence.
We lived with the headmaster, who was my seragit father, while Yuki is his actual daughter, for just the three of us, this place is rather big. We would head into the dining room and there was Kaien Cross, jolly as ever with his apron, cooking away.
He'd then turn to us, giving us a gentle, warm smile "ahh, if it isn't my two lovely children, glad you could wake up in time Grey, specially for breakfest" he would say. I'd move to the table, and Yuki would sit across from me, and then Kaien would place breakfast in front of me. Yuki would dig in, and I slowly picked at it, and despite it tasting actually pretty good, having it being able to... "sate" me, does not work.
