Slapping Babies

Have you ever realized how saving someone from choking is so weird? Like you either aggressively hit them in the back, or hit their stomach. Like *slap* STOP *slap*ZCHOKING *more aggressive slaps* like what the fudge nuggets 

And if a baby isn't breathing when it's born, the doctors will spank???? Like why is saving someone's life so aggressivr?
