New Years

 "Maria Are you ready to go? Xander is going to be here for you soon" My mom calls to me.

"Yeah but Xander said he might be late
"I think he lied to you he just pulled in the driveway"

" I did just said might mom"

"Cut the sass and get down here you don't want to make him wait."

"He's my best friend he can wait."

'Well you don't want to keep the rest of them waiting because you were being a pain to Xander and left late."

"Relax I'm right here"

As I walk to the top of the stairs and start down Xander pops in the door, with a huge smile on his face looking like he was up to something.

"We haven't even left and you already look up to something" i sigh

"I'm not up to anything just happy to go see all our friends plus I heard that Adam is bringing Elle"

"That is confirmed by me he is bringing her, actually Lily asked for her to be there so and I quoting her here "Adam doesn't feel like an extra wheel""

"Makes sense let's not leave them waiting"

"Yeah yeah let's go"

I say goodbye to my parents and we leave Xander picking up my bag and opening my door like a gentleman. But then again he had always done things like that for some reason today on new year's eve it felt different. It being early morning Xander leaves me to my own thoughts which I don't think is a good idea because it made me start to think about the midnight kiss and if I wanted to kiss anyone everyone will think that I will kiss xander which this thought makes me start to get nervous because what if the time comes and I chicken out but what if I don't even want to kiss him do I even like him like that? Oh god I think I do and it's not like people have thought it but I haven't thought about it until now thought about how over the time since the time I met the kid I have been drawn closer and closer to him eventually falling for him I just don't think he likes me like that Oh god I hope he does. As this thought pops in my head I hear Xander calling for me trying to pull me out of my thought.

"Doll are you okay?"

"Yeah why do you ask?"

"It took me six tries to get you to respond and you have been quiet all morning."

"Sorry lost in thought about everything that will happen today"

"Don't over think anything everything will work out they way it should."

"I know I just hope it works out the way it is in my head"

"I bet it will" He smirks at me.

I smile back as he takes my hand and gives it a little squeeze but doesn't let it go the rest of the ride to lily's. When we pull up to the house we notice a red car not a pink one which meant that they came in Martin's car and that was probably a better choice than hot pink. As soon as we get out of the car we are immediately greeted by everyone who was already there which was everyone but Adam and Elle.

"Before you ask because I know you will Adam and Elle will be here by 12 so within two hours"

'There is our Maria straight and to the point" Julie smiles

"And there is our Julie who looks like she is freezing her ass of because she is from Florida and its cold as hell up here in December."

"Which is why I am going back inside" Julie smiles running inside.

"Wimp" Kenny yells

"You look not better shivering" Xander jokes

"Come on let's all go inside I live by the water and I'm getting cold" Zoey comments.

"She has a point" Charlie and Martin agree.

'Yups inside darlings" Lily says ushering us in.

Lily shows me and Xander to the room me and him will be staying in because all of the others are all paired up so we are kind of forced into the same room neither of us thought too much about it we have fallen asleep together before this shouldn't be any different. As soon as Adam and Elle arrived we sat down in the huge living room munching on food and playing games it wasn't until around six that we decided to start drinking and when 10 rolled around we started playing truth or dare. Which is fine well that is until it gets to Kenny asking me. Kenny is drunk off his ass and I am only tipsy being able to hold my liquor well.

"Ohhh this one is going to be interesting" Julie giggles from Charlie's lap.

Everyone nods in agreement and I sigh knowing how bad Kenny is about me and Xander but I could care less at this point and I know that Xander is Tipsy as well the only one that isn't remotely drunk because she is not drinking that much is Elle.

"Ok okay Mari I got it"

"Then spit it out already Ken"

"You have to give Xander a lap dance"

"Okay, but I have to do something first I'll be right back"

"No chickening out" A couple of them yell

"I'm not, just need to change" I wink at them and head to the room I was shown earlier where I left my things.

When I get to my room I pull on the plaid mini skirt I owned for some unknown reason it was black and pink I kept on my black knee high boots I was wearing and put on a lacey black tank top. Once I put on black eyeliner and bright red lipstick.. Once I was done I headed back down to the group. I watch everyone stare at me in shock,

"Where did you get that outfit and why did you have it with you?' Zoey wants to know

"I always bring this skirt with me to things where truth and dare would come up because of some of my guy friends. The rest is everyday things from my closet"

"You've been holding out on us girly" Lily giggles.

"This will be interesting why don't we start this dance Xander you ready?" Adam asks

"I think so" He says not taking his eyes off me

Music starts and I walk towards Xander swinging my hips. Once straddling him I move against him using mostly my hips. As the music comes to a stop I turn back around to face him when he grabs my hips and pulls me into his lap, causing me to straddle him again.

"Where did you learn that" He breaths out as I try to catch my breath.

"That is my secret" I smirk at him

"Omg guys it's one minute till midnight!" One of the girls screeches.

Me and Xander are in our own little world as we start to hear our friends countdown. At each number Xander and me lean closer and closer to each other . right as our friends scream happy new year our lips lock my arms wrap around his neck as my hands tangle in his hair and he pulls me closer wrapping his arms around me more.

"Hey you two there are others here" Martin yells

"If it bothers you so much kiss Zoey" Xander says as we break for air.

"Good idea" He says pulling Zoey to him.

"I think we should all go to bed." Elle points out.

All of us think about it and agree with her and head off to get ready for bed.

I change into pajama pants but keep my tank top on as I crawl into bed with Xander he pulls me close

"I love you my Princess"

"I love you too my solider"
