I turned around slowly to see Jake covered in blood, which I think is mine, with a wild grin on his face but he seems confused. " W-What have you become? " he asked as he dropped to his knees but it wasn't until I realized Sheldyn had spontainiously spawned behind him and was holding a knife to Jake's throat.
My eyes widened as I saw Sheldyn smile when he slashed open Jake's neck. My stomach turned summersaults and I felt semiwobbly " w-what? w-why did you do that? " I stuttered, as I staggered back. He stood up straight, calmly seeming to not know what he just did and he looked at me with fear in his eyes " he was going to hurt you, I blacked out.. Hannah I'm scared. " He said as he staggered to me.
I immediately opened my arms as he reached me, knowing that running from him would only hurt both of us. " why am I not dead? " I asked very quietly. " I have no idea, but I'm glad.. I was so scared of losing you. " I could feel tears on my skin, but I couldn't tell if they were his or my own and at this point I didn't care. I wanted to know what the fuck was going on around here.
About an hour or so later a doctor entered the room and I asked him what had happened. This was his response:
" It was a very traumatic event I'm both surprised you're alive and that you're not completely insane. Being honest when you stepped between those two younge men, the one with long hair stabbed you and we had to remove the knife. Luckily this young man here was able to catch you and set you gently to the floor when you passed out, he and the other man got in a big fist fight, but while he wasn't paying attention your friend beat you head against the ground a few good times. We had to put you immediately into surgery and this boy hasn't left your side since you've been here. Considering you have no family left he was able to tell us who not to let in the room, but our staff was short today and they got in. We are very sorry about that. "
