My world shattered around me as I heard the last person's name being called. It wasn't mine. I couldn't breathe. I felt like someone was squeezing the life out of me. I wanted to cry, but I was too numb. The girls who were left over started to exit the stage; they were all crying. I was the only one not showing emotion. I quickly walked off the stage, past the cameras, past Cher and the boys, past everyone else crying for joy. I ran to my room, slammed the door and locked it.
I later heard a knock. I opened it to see the host.
"The judges would like to see you." He said.
"Okay."
I tried to make sure I looked presentable. We walked to the room where the judges sat.
"Maxine, love, we are so sorry." Louis said to me.
"We didn't choose to send you out. Someone else decided. " Cheryl told me.
"Who? Who decided to send me home?" I begged.
"Max, sweetheart, it was your father."
