❝The crazy ones are always hot❞

"Vervained your bottle." Kai chuckled, "Who didn't see that coming?" Damon continues to cough out while Kai had a wide smile on his face. I had options; jump on Kai's back; grab a bottle and hit him with it; throw a beach chair. The time I leave my daggers has to be on a day when a psycho is attacking my friend.

"Who buys patio furniture from a grocery store?" Kai continues to talk, looking at me, as I weakly lay in the patio chair. I didn't even eat today, so spare me. "I mean, somebody must. Otherwise, it... it wouldn't be here," He walks towards me and picks up a beach umbrella before breaking it's wooden end into two,

He turn back to Damon,"But now I'm a little unfamiliar with vampires, but from what I've gathered, a stake in the heart should do it, right?" Damon forwards his hand to grab Kai, but Kai stabs his hand, making Damon yelp in pain. I grimace, standing up and grabbing a half of the wood Kai tossed by me. "You can always fight dirty, Damon. Like that time you and Bonnie played monopoly and you stole from the bank. Not cool."

Damon manages to free his hand and stands up, looking at me and shaking his head subtly. He didnt want me to hit him, "I'm gonna rip your head off."

Kai cockily said, "No. You're not."  Before we could understand what he meant, he smashes all the bottle on the shelf and the liquid from it burns Damon's skin and he falls to the floor again, screaming in pain. Shard of glass pierce my skin as I shield my face, "I didn't know which bottle you'd take, so I vervained them all.

He raises his hand to stab Damon, and I speak, "Stay away from him."

Kai turns to look at me, "You're cute and all, but just stop already." He then swings the umbrella at my legs, knocking me on my ass, before Bonnie comes running towards us.

"Leave them alone." She seethed.

"The useless one is here. Thank God. I've watched you try to do magic for months now. What are you gonna do, fail at me? It's embarrassing. I'm embarrassed for you." Bonnie looks at Damon who looks back at her, giving her a look that shows sympathy. She then looks over at candle on a side shelf, intensely staring at it before it lit up. Thank the heavens. "Uh -oh." Was all Kai said as Bonnie smirked and looked at Damon.

"Run." Bonnie tells him and in an instant, I'm being swooped up and taken as Damon superspeeds us out of there.

"I have to go back in and help her." Damon tells me but I shook my head.

"Let me do it." I say and he hesitantly nods before I ran back inside.

Not far, I hear Bonnie talk to him, "Giving up so soon? I'm embarrassed for you." Just in time, I come up from behind Kai with the same broken piece I had earlier and hit him on the head, knocking him unconscious before Damon came in.

"Sorry I called you guys the most annoying people in the world." He apologized, looking down at Kai, "I hadn't met him yet."

After a struggle of getting him to the boarding house, we tied Kai to a chair, so he doesn't attempt to attack us again.

After a few hours, he slowly regains consciousness, but we let Damon take control as we sat down. Damon grabs a poker from the fireplace, with a bag of pork rinds in his other hand.

Kai groans as Damon looks at him, "You're awake. Good." Damon walks in front of Kai as Kai contemplates how he got here, "Now for the Q&A portion of the evening."

"Let me guess." Kai groggily speaks, "I answer right, I get a pork rind. Wrong, I get a poker."

"What? No, no, no. These are for me." Damon teased, putting the pork rinds behind his back, "You just get the poker."

Kai winced when Damon poked him, "Yeah. You don't have to do that."

"Are you sure about that?" I ask, and he looks over at me with a little smirk.

"We're on the same team." He tells us, his eyes still on me.

Bonnie then stands up, walking beside Damon as I stayed seated in the armchair, "Really? Do you always try and kill your teammates?" Bonnie asked, and Kai stayed silent for a second. The only second of silence we ever heard from him so far.

"The important thing is that you have your magic back. It worked." He flips. I stand up finally, as Damon and Bonnie look at each other, "What, you... you didn't really think I'd kill Damon, did you?" Kai asked rhetorically, laughing lightly. "In what universe does that make sense? Who would kill 1/4 of our population? I'm not a monster."

I laugh at his last words, but they all chose to ignore me, "I knew Bonnie would show up. She always comes back, all thirteen times, and I knew with the right motivation she'd be able to access her magic, although I did get a little worried with all your bickering that Damon's life wouldn't be enough motivation, so that's why I went after Rowan," We all shoot him and unamused look, "But turns out it was right motivation. I guess that's just how you two show your love."

Bonnie then speaks after his whole lecture, "So you did all that just to make sure I would have my magic?"

Kai scoffed, "Of course I did. Because your magic is the key to getting the hell out of here."

I speak up baffled by his words, "Are freaking serious?"

Before I say more, I'm scolded by Kai, "Rowan, language! There are children around!"

God, is he always like this?
