I used to be a good girl. But I was foolish too. I've loved, and lost. My spirit's broken, and so is my heart.
My name is Madison Rose Lexington Santiago. Also known as Maddi. I'm a 19 year old girl who was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, and I've got a little story to tell.
“Mads. Wake up.”
“...”
“Maddi.”
“...”
“MADISON!”
“Okay, okay. I’m up,” as I said yawning.
“What the hell do you want now, Melissa.”
“Sorry to awaken you from your slumber, your majesty, but we have a big ass family reunion to go to at 12:30.”
“Ha ha, very funny. Wait.. 12:30?!”
“YES! Now get ready!”
What delightful news to wake up to, right? Ugh. Anyway, that was Melissa. She’s my older sister, and we’re only a year apart. She can be such a bitch sometimes, but I still love her. I crawl out of bed and deliberately walk into my bathroom and turn the shower on.
“It just had to be at 12:30, didn’t it..” I mutter.I climb into the steamy shower and wash my hair and body. Just as I was about to turn the shower off, I realize that I forgot to shave my legs.
“Ugh.” I say as I reach for the razor. As I finish shaving and turn the shower off, I dry off and wrap my body in my towel and run into my room.
“Okay… dresses.. hmm..” I couldn’t find the dress I was planning to wear to this stupid reunion. I swing the door open and shout, “LISSA!” I was all the way upstairs, and listened for the familiar voice of my beloved sister.
“WHAT!?”
“WHERE’D YOU PUT MY DRESS FOR THE REUNION!?”
“IT’S TO THE VERY RIGHT OF YOUR CLOSET! USE YOUR EYES, DAMN IT!”
“MY BAD!” I shout back to her laughing.
“Ah, here you are.” I say quietly as I pull out my dress. It was a beige and black high-low dress, with my initials sewn onto the luxury tag.
“Now where did I put my heels…” I look toward my shoe closet to see that my heels are sitting right in front of the door. I put the heels and dress on, and curl my uncontrollable hair.
“I look like a walking disaster.” I said to myself. I finished curling the last strand of hair and applied hairspray and put my make-up on, and then headed downstairs to where my sister was waiting.
“Where the hell are Nick and Brandon?” She asked, with slight panic in her voice.
“Uh. I dunno.” I said as I went to grab my purse hanging on the hook attached to the wall.
Nicholas, or Nick, was my boyfriend. We’ve been together for a little over a year now. Brandon was Melissa’s boyfriend. I have no idea how long they’ve been together. Just as Melissa opened her mouth to say something to me, the doorbell rang.
