The spaceport was huge, bigger than Claire ever imagined. Ships of every shape and size surrounded them, as well as drones, manta-birds, and aliens of every species...it was amazing. She looked around and took in the sights, but was brought back to reality when she heard Delbert and his clunky metal space suit.
"Claire! Oh. Claire! Wait for me!"
Claire chuckled and rolled her eyes as he emerged from the transport ship. She couldn't believe that he actually bought that thing. Delbert came up next to Claire and nudged her on the shoulder playfully.
"Well, Claire, this should be a wonderful opportunity for the two of us to get to know one another. You know what they say, familiarity breeds, um...well, contempt, but in our case-"
Claire shook her head at his rambling.
"Let's go find the ship, Delbert."
"Ah, yes. Good idea." He agreed.
The port was so massive that the two didn't even know where to start looking, so they wandered around for a little while until Claire finally decided to ask someone for directions.
"Second berth on your right." A robot on a ladder said as it pointed to the right.
"You can't miss it." The alien that was holding the ladder added.
"Great! Thank you." She waved goodbye to the two helpful sailors. She was about to head in the direction of the berth when she realized that Delbert wasn't with her. She looked around for a moment when he appeared around the corner. She looked at the exasperated expression on his face, and was about to ask what was wrong when she heard the laughter of multiple spacers come from behind him. The two of them walked as he vented about it.
"It's the suit, isn't it? I never should have listened to that pushy, two-headed saleswoman. This one said it fit, that one said it was my color. I didn't know what to do...I get so flustered..."
They came to an abrupt stop when they saw a massive and beautiful ship. It had three masts that supported multiple solar sails each, and a long thick bowsprit that protruded out the front. It had quite the regal look to it with its brown, blue, and gold color scheme.
"Ooh! Claire! This is our ship, The RLS Legacy!"
"Woah.."
Claire was beyond words when she stepped aboard the gigantic ship, because as cool as it looked from down there, it was even better once you were on it. Delbert came aboard and approached a well-dressed male of the rock giant species, and addressed him as the man in charge.
"Good morning, Captain! Everything shipshape?"
The male saluted, and then he responded in a low, gravelly voice.
"Shipshape it is, sir, but I'm not the Captain. The Captain's aloft."
He stated as he pointed his hand in the general direction of the upper masts. They all looked up and saw a feline woman running along the yards of the main mast. With practiced agility, she parkour-jumped from mast to mast until she finally landed down on the deck.
Claire was surprised, but filled with glee upon seeing a female Captain running the ship. It was certainly something she never expected to see. The Captain walked up to her first mate with a serious look on her face, where she then spoke to him in a posh British accent.
"Mr. Arrow, I've checked this miserable ship from stem to stern, and, as usual, it's...spot on. Can you get nothing wrong?" She smiled at him as she complimented his handy work.
Mr. Arrow took off his hat and bowed.
"You flatter me, Captain."
The Captain caught sight of the Doctor's strange suit and grew even more amused when she noticed that he also happened to be wearing it incorrectly.
