"Ha, well... you see..." I took a step back from the angry boy. After a few seconds of staring at my face, probably seeing if I was lying, he sighed and rubbed his forehead.

"It's okay, I guess, just don't do it again" he said, now calm.

"It's not okay" a deeper voice said from behind me. "If you won't be strict, then I have to." Haruto scowled and gripped my arm tightly and began dragging me toward the dorms. I could hear Raiden start to speak but he stopped. I started to stumble a bit since Haruto was going faster than I could keep up with my arm in this position. Within a few steps I tripped and skidded my knee on the pavement.

"Owe." I muttered as I tried to get up

"Get up" he demanded in a cold voice.

"I'm trying! It's hard when you're holding me like that!"

Once I stood up we continued walking, this time without him griping my arm.

Once we were back to the dorm he stood by the door as I went in.

"Now get in your room and don't break curfew again."

He slammed the door in my face.

First day and you're already messing up... way to go, Akira

My eyes fluttered open and the sunlight made me cover my face with my arm.

"Miki why are you yelling?"

"Finally! Your awake! Now get ready" she smiled and threw my uniform at me. As I got ready I couldn't hold back my slight smile. Miki's happiness was rubbing off on me.

"Let's go! I don't wanna be late" Miki smiled, and I grabbed my bag. As we headed to class Miki talked about the teacher, and students, and boys. She is talkative, but I don't mind it. It makes me feel less lonely. As we stepped into class Miki pulled me over to a small group of girls.

"Guys, I wanna introduce you to my new friend, Akira" Miki smiled.

I nodded and said a small "hello" to everyone. They grinned and started talking about, well, normal girl stuff.

"Hey Taichi" a girl said in a voice that made her sound breathless, practically screaming she had a crush on him.

"Hey Erai" he said normally. I knew he was a bit oblivious when we were younger, but...

She had medium brown hair and was pretty. About 5'7 if I had to guess, not too short, not too tall for him. They'd make a cute couple.

"So Akira, there's an empty seat by me if you want it" he said almost too casually.

I looked back at the girls and Erai made a hurt face.

"Actually I was planning on sitting by Mik-"

"You can just sit by me tomorrow! I'm guessing you two have a lot to catch up" Miki, oblivious to my discomfort.

"Great!" Taichi smiled and started dragging me over to an empty seat.

As we sat down the teacher came in and started talking. Of course I can't concentrate, not when Erai's face is playing in my mind. What a great first impression.

"Akira, we haven't seen each other in ages and you ignore me" Taichi said and I snapped back into reality.

"Oh uh sorry. I was zoning out" I smiled and looked around. Everyone was gone. Did I really zone out for that long?
