-"And tell me the legend, do you want to fight a Krieger of the Old Guard?"

-"The Old Guard?" What the hell are you talking about ?!

-It seems that Stark forgot to tell you why now serves the TP, instead of continuing to be part of the Old Guard.

Kazuya smirked and turned the quantum sword with a fluid movement, was that the Blutgebein of the legends?

It activated the absorption of nanoalmas and the quantum field of the weapon. He motioned for me to attack him. His companion or disciple was about to attack the rookies, but the old man stopped him.

-"Boy, I fought and bleed next to Stark long before the first battle of the Blood Wars between Muramasa and Masamune. You say you do not believe who I am ?! Let's see what you are doing, let's see if you honor our line, let's see if you are worthy of those stories that are told. Here's a legend!

-What better to kill one, to become another, say goodbye old man to your nano-souls!

I prepared for the attack, activation of the quantum field, integration of nano-souls, I had no idea if it was really him or not, but to think that lied gave me strength. I would see it with my own eyes in a few moments.

I advanced with the quantum field to the maximum, gave a thrust to the shoulder to cut it in half, easily blocked with his weapon, and counterattacked with a quick cut that narrowly skirted.
We both attacked, and our quantum swords clashed, destroying part of the ground by the energy released. The roof had become a dangerous trap. Cut limbs everywhere, sticky blood and the edges of the roof crumbling to the void. Apparently the structure of the building was not prepared to withstand the violence of the quantum field.

The rookies looked stunned and the young man seemed sure of the outcome of this confrontation. We separated a few meters to catch our breath.

-"So ... have you heard of my exploits, old man?" I tried to get some air back while I got some more information. It was very strong and fast, but it did not appear to be Kazuya's legend, Major's Brother Brother, Klaus Stark. Why did he pretend to be dead? And why was the TP attacking us?

-"Of course, how could I not follow the trajectory of my brother's superior pupil?" Schneider, the cutter, in just 3 years you've managed to reach the beta range, by the way, you're already a living legend, but for how long?

-"My legend will be eternal, old man." -I put my sword in front and prepared for another attack.

-"Noble business, although ephemeral. Is that a Blitz?"

-"Yes, a second generation."

-"Well, quantum swords like that are no longer made." Hard to brandish, but once you're in control, it's a fearsome weapon. Have you inherited it or perhaps stolen it from some poor wretch who was not clever in his handling?

-"That is none of your business, and now you must give way to the old future. I wish you luck in the days of tomorrow" -I charged the quantum field to the maximum and attacked directly to the legs. As I guessed, he stopped the thrust leaving the torso uncovered for a quick jerk. I loaded the nanowires that those nanoseconds of advantage would allow me and hit him with the coup de grace.

The energy exploded, I felt the smell of burned flesh invading my nostrils and I recoiled to see the result of my attack.

There was no doubt that he was mortally wounded. Everything was suspended in a sepulchral silence. Kazuya was still standing, his left elbow dangling from his arm and a deep cut on his chest, still holding his great sword impassively with his other arm, blood flowing around him with a strange aura, as if time had stopped. The particles of blood still floating in the air came back together and into his body, the arm returned to join the elbow with the rest of the limb. The great cut began to absorb energy until it returned to its natural state. The rooks murmured something, and stood around me in defense formation.

-"Sergeant Schneider!" We will fight with you, and if our fate is to die, so be it!

-" ... Sergeant better die covered in glory, than live in shame!" -exclaimed the other, all nodded and set to attack even knowing that they had no chance. I had underestimated these newcomers, their bravery honored them, and they deserved at least as much glory as I did.

-"Very clever boy, you pretended to concentrate all your quantum force into one main attack, to re-attack immediately with a mortal thrust, combined with cranial force and nano-souls. "I'm sorry to tell you that I let myself be hurt to see your attack power in a second blink-laughter-and the amount of nano-souls you were capable of wasting."

-"What kind of skill is that ?! Is that what an Old Guard warrior can do ?!

-"You do not know quantum recovery?" I see, as you see, being an authentic legend has its advantages, but this skill is not learned. You must increase the molecular resistance of your body with some improvements, let it show you the skills of an authentic Old Guard krieger. Thebes! -"The boy was probably addressed to his pupil."- Have fun with these cadets, but do not kill them.

-If you are a Brother of Arms, why are you against your oath ?!

-"I'm not against any oath, Sergeant Schneider. The Old Guard is above oaths of the TP.

Kazuya raised his sword and a beam of red light impregnated everything, could not move, could not breathe, my life passed in a few nanoseconds for my heightened consciousness and I remembered the first time I loaded something in my neurological club, why would I remember that now? The mysteries of the mind are sometimes incomprehensible. I raised my Blitz to protect myself. I shouted at the rookies who would turn away, and then, when I was ready to feel my fate, a blue aura invaded my camp and stopped the attack.

It was him.

Meister.

Klaus Stark, Colonel Major of the TP brigade. Krieger Alpha. The legend for which I enlisted, the legend by which I decided glory and death. Instead of anonymity, vulgarity and a miserable life, but life after all.
