I really thought Tessa would bring me back to the dorms after dropping John off. I was really hoping she would be kind enough to let me have this day to my own but knowing her, she won't.
I looked at the window from the back seat, a scowl on my face as we passed by a couple of dress boutiques. Her eyes were concentrated on the road in front of her, barely glancing at me to check if I was okay. Her cup of coffee sat idly in the cup holders, waiting to be sipped. I slumped even more once we passed by a lingerie store. Where was Tessa taking me?
Once we left the house, Tessa started talking about the wedding and how she was so 'stoked' that The Maine was going to play. Her mind was too wrapped up on the fact that their band was going to play at the wedding. She didn't even ask much questions how I knew them. I honestly wondered how she even got them to play considering the fact that they may be famous and bands that are really great don't usually agree to play on weddings. Unless they're related to the bride/groom but you get the point. I bet something happened to the two of them last night.
We also dropped by a coffee shop hence the cup of steaming caffeine in the cup holder. I on the other hand refused to drink coffee with an empty stomach. It was one of those rules I had concerning my health. Tessa then started to tell me that I shouldn't be so knotted up and that I should live a little. Whatever that meant. I don't even know how that relates to coffee.
My eyes tried to capture the street signs we passed by but Tessa being Tessa, drove fast. I barely had time to read the first letter. Eventually, we pulled in front of a very glamorous looking store and I'm not saying this because I don't go out often. I could tell just by looking at it's label. It was a designer boutique that's for sure. Everything was made of glass...to the windows, to the doors and the shelves. I gulped and turned to Tessa who was now drinking her cold-ish cup of coffee. She grimaced once there was no more liquid inside the cup and that's when she finally decided to look at me.
"Care to tell me why we're exactly here?" I asked carefully. She laughed and placed the cup back into the lonely cup holder. She shook her head and gave me a bright smile, one that wasn't entirely a good one. It was a mischievious smile and I was honestly afraid of what she had in store for me--that included this botique.
"We are going shopping!" She exclaimed. I groaned and slumped back further into the leathery seat's abyss. Whatever that meant. I could feel her rolling her eyes at me while crossing her arms.
"Come on Blair, we're going to a wedding at least dress up for the occasion!" I detached my hands from my face and gave her a long look. Her hazel eyes locked on mine and they were silently pleading me to just go with the flow. I sighed and and looked out the window.
"Fine but I choose the dress. Not you." I said, giving in. She nodded and went out of the car. I of course followed her since I wasn't in the mood to stay in a car all day and like she said, we were going shopping.
Shopping was never in my list of things to do. I rarely went out like I said. I was fine with the clothes I had and I wasn't really going with the fashion trends. I go for the usual t-shirts and shorts/sneakers look. I've heard Reece complain about it a thousand times but she gave up soon after knowing it was totally useless to convince me to wear a skirt and a tank top out in public.
Tessa went ahead of me, going into the store like it was the most normal thing in the world. For her maybe. She blended inside the store as if she belonged with those fashionable clothes. I awkwardly trailed behind her frowning at myself for wearing a t-shirt and some skinny jeans. Tessa stood near a rack full of floral dresses and those silky satin dresses you see on prom. A scowl was instantly painted on my face upon seeing them.
There were only a few people inside the store but the way they looked at me hit a nerve. I wasn't this self-conscious but I really didn't like it when I was somewhat the center of attention. She waved her hand at me and I trudged towards her, keeping my head down to avoid the disturbing stares I was getting from the other customers.
