C H A P T E R 2

POV: Natsu

I could only watch as the flames covered Lucy at her heroic attempt to save the kid. My face contorted into a frown and my fists unconsciously surged towards the redhead who caused this chaos. Who caused all this chaos.

"This is all your fault, Baka! Now you'll regret it!"

"The name is Miyuki," her mouth curled into a grin, "And no, I don't think I will, darling."

She attacked me with a few water spells Juvia used as well, so I was pretty familiar with what they do. I have to admit, this Miyuki chick is good. It took me more than a few minutes to get her to stop attacking, and I finally left her knocked out. The Magic Council will take care of that.

The kid who she hostaged was the son of a rich businessman, so I got a good reward for the job. What happened to Lucy though...

"Wendy, when do you think she'll wake up?" Levy asked, her eyes filled with pure concern.

"I don't think that's anytime soon."

Wendy had been in charge of healing Lucy ever since I carried her back to the guild yesterday, and so far we haven't had any luck at waking her up.

"What are her injuries?"

"She got a lot of burns all-over her body and she fractured her arm, probably when she tried to break her fall. Aside from that, she's... she's in a coma."

Her face still looked radiant, despite the fact that she was lying down on the hospital bed in a deep slumber. My muscles still hurt from yesterday and I got some bruises on my forehead because of one of the redhead's attacks, but most of the pain came from my muscles.

My head hurts as well, after I kicked her terrible ass, but it hurt a lot more when I saw Lucy's condition.

"Natsu."

I turned my head at the mention of my name. The red-haired mage in front of me right now reminds me so much of Miyuki. But this redhead? Is so much scarier.

"Erza."

"We found out a few things about the girl you defeated yesterday. It's surprising."

"Continue?" I nodded.

"The girl was specifically waiting to beat up Fairy Tail. The job advertisement was only put up in our guild," Erza went on, "And she wasn't working willingly. She was hired."

"Who hired her?!"

"Calm Down. We still don't know--"

"If you didn't know in the first place, then what's the point of telling me the information? I want justice for Lucy!"

"NATSU! I told you all this because we're going on a mission to find out who exactly hired her. Gray, Nuella, Joshua, and I. Would you like to come?"

"Where's Happy?"

"With Charles. Both of them are err... I don't really know."

"Oh. But who will watch over Lucy?"

"Levy and Wendy are taking shifts watching her already."

"What if they get attacked?"

"I think Mira and Laxus will be enough to withstand a few attacks." she chuckled.

I nodded.

POV: Gray

We've been looking for the mastermind of the ruckus ever since we left the guild this morning. Police records, townspeople biographies, the history of Fairy Tail, we even interrogated Miyuki. (Believe me, that did not go well.) But the guy was just no where to be found.
