Prologue
Silence falls upon the village as the light from the sun fades into the reaches of space. The villagers know what to expect as it falls. It means the return of the plague. A plague that has ravaged their village and kingdom for many millennia. A plague that consumes all in the blackness of night.
Children have been told the stories of four young kings, who wished to conquer the known world. In hopes of reaching their dreams, the four sold their souls to the realm of darkness. In return for their souls, the ruler of the darkness granted them immortality and slaves to follow their every whim. When the four were ready to head out on their mission; they were given a warning to heed by the one who granted their desires.
“Four kings shall ride to conquer the known, only to be stopped by the light of one. The four shall attempt to corrupt his heart so that he may serve them. They may succeed, but if they should fail this, then the four shall vanish into shadows from whence they sold themselves.”
The four laughed at how silly this sounded because they were immortal and nothing could stop them. They set out to rule the world. Little did they know realize that on the other side of the known world, a young boy was growing up.
This little boy was the crown jewel of his village and the whole of his kingdom for that matter. He was born with an extreme gift that allowed him to master the element of fire. His parents had named him Niall, which means champion. They named him this because of the prophecy that came when he was born.
“One, whose heart is like the sun, will light up the world. He shall be the champion that tangles with the masters of darkness. His light will destroy things that haven’t been seen since the return of darkness, but his heart will be tempted by the lust of desire and power. Four shall attack his heart and lest he falls, the kingdom of light shall be damned into nothing.”
Niall has been raised to the best of his parent’s abilities, but alas, something comes that the world isn’t ready for.
