Grace

I'm shocked. I mean, we are only new to this neighborhood but there is already a person who wanted to talk to us. Slightly excited and curious, I ran swiftly downstairs. My father's reaction mirrored mine.

"It's probably the pizza." He said.

The doorbell sounded again and that was my cue to speak.

"Uhm, I'll get it." I straightened the crease on my t-shirt and opened the door.

"Er, pizza delivery." The boy said, completely flustered and slightly embarrassed.

"First day?" I asked while he handed me the two boxes of pizza.

"Yeah." He chuckled, he seemed more relaxed now. "This is my first delivery ever. I'm sorry if I'm awkward."

He glanced at his feet, his cheeks are turning crimson. I saw his name tag and I read aloud those three letters.

"Sky."

"What? You know me?"

"No." I laughed softly. "It's on your name tag."

"Oh."

"Yeah."

We stand there awkwardly. He's nice but super bashful. He's also cute, those blue eyes are so beautiful. Bluest of the blue.

"Oh, I almost forgot. " I handed him the money and then he said thank you. I waved at him and shut the door.

"What's taking you so long?" My father asked.

"Nothing. " I handed him the two boxes of pizza and then took a slice. It's delicious.

We both settled down the couch watching The 33 on tv. I was going to bite again on my pizza when the doorbell rang again. What the hell?

"Did you forgot your change or something? " Dad asked, slightly annoyed. I don't blame him, the movie's good and if it was me, I don't like being disturbed.

I shrugged. I have no idea. Maybe he came back to ask for your number. The inner me says. Seriously? Stop it.

I opened the door to see the face of a beautiful woman, wearing a beautiful dark blue dress her blonde hair was pulled into an elegant bun a completely opposite of mine. Behind her a little girl in her cute pink dress stares at me curiously. She's got her mother's blonde hair. She's so cute. A tall man waved at me, he has a dark hair and a blue eyes.

"Hi, you must be our new neighbor?" He asked kindly. That British accent though.

I was gone mute. I only managed to nod. Gosh.

"So, uhm this is my husband Martin, my daughter Sabrina and Jam-- where's James?" The woman asked her daughter.

"He said he'll catch up." She said while twirling her blonde curls in her fingers.

I don't know what to do so I let them in. A visitor? At our house?

"Dad? We have visitors." I called my dad and I saw the shocked expression on his face.

"Hi. We are your neighbor and we wanted to welcome you." The woman said extending her hands to my father. "Susan Evans."

They shake hands and then her husband introduced himself.

"Jack Evans. Pleased to meet you." They shake hands too and it's my father's turn to introduce himself.

"I'm Mike Randall and this is my daughter Grace."

They smiled at me and I feel myself blush. They're so nice.

"By the way, we made you a dinner. Is that okay?" Susan said while holding her daughter's hand.
