Chaper four

   I watch him while he stood outside my door still holding her in his arms with the sharp blade of the knife against her cold skin.

"What do you want from me?" I shout.

"You." He says calmly.

"I'll give you Josie if you give me your life." He says.

"No! Just let her go!" I shouted.

He pressed the blade deeper and slowly cuts her throat and she screams out in pain.

"Okay! Please just don't hurt her!" You yell. It takes him by surprise and you open the door. You take a step out and he lets Josie go. She runs inside and you throw a knife that you had hidden in your pocket at his chest but it hits his arm and stabs him as you run inside and lock the door.

"Did you really think I would do that?" You ask.

"I see. You think you're so clever don't you?" He asks while stepping closer. "Oh darling, I'll get you."

It's getting dark and you slowly drift off to sleep. You wake yourself up and tell yourself you can't sleep.

"Anna, you can go to sleep. I'll keep watch and if I get tired I'll wake you." Says Josie calmly while putting a blanket on you.

"No, I'm okay." I say while shaking off the blanket.

"It's the least I can do after all you've done to me." Says Josie with a soft smile.

I drift off to sleep.
