New York.... the definition of perfection. The people walking up and down the streets, with flyers or walking their dogs. New York was everything everybody and Social media made it out to be. From the high skyscrapers, to the pubs on every corner downtown. The broadway building or just the fact that everybody is constantly asking you for directions.
Blaine didn't know what to think of New York. It had been 5 years since Blaine graduated from Dalton Academy. He went straight to New York for his teaching degree, and a minor in Children's theater. Blaine was single living in New York by himself, with Wes across in Brooklyn, New York with his long time girlfriend.
Running out of his house with his black suitcase dragging behind him, while he hailed himself a cab, he was already late for his flight out to Westerville, this early morning. Climbing inside his cab and giving the driver an address to the airport while he fiddled with his phone nervously. His curls were untamed, and he wore a grey cardigan and black jeans.
He sighed and rushed into the airport with his suitcase, shuffling his suitcase onto the security check before making past security with his carry on before settling outside of star bucks café with his Grande Carmel Macchiato, that cost him $4.99 total, along with his blueberry muffin costing him then a total of 8.00 dollars.
Blaine struggled out of his seat hearing the usual 15 minute warning for flight 15 boarding to Westerville, it was thanksgiving after all and Blaine had decided he was going to travel back to see his brother for a few days. Picking up his bag from the floor and searching for his papers that stated what seat he was in, he began walking down the entry way towards his flight gate.
Bumping into presumably a man and his child, he saw all his papers fly to the ground, groaning internally he bent down to pick them all up. "Shit." he cursed under his breath taking in the one year old little innocent boy. Blue eyes wide with desire, and his cheeks tinted an almost permanent pink, the boy grinned back.
"Blaine Anderson?" The voice kneeling down gasped out loud, his voice was like music to his ears, his voice so the same but yet very different. "Oh my god" The Voice said again, until the baby ruined the moment.
________
Kurt Hummel moved to New York as soon as he graduated from High School, he left without looking back only going back to Ohio for holidays, Kurt sighed looking back all those years when he used to be so excited to his 'boyfriend' to come back from football practice. But like most friends say, there just high school sweethearts.
Kurt groaned when the baby boy started crying. He only just turned 3 months old, and was already starting to teeth. Kurt wasn't one for babies, he would have rather adopted an 5 year old than have a baby, but here he was being a father, single in New York.
It was August 11th when Kurt got the call that Quinn Fabray and Finn Hudson, Kurt's stepbrother had passed away in an airplane, it had been just after midnight, Kurt flew that night back to Ohio to be their for his parents in anyway he could be. The next morning child services knocked on his door, holding an 1 month infant than in August.
Kurt came to the door and answered their questions in confused until he finally asked what this was about. Quinn and Finn had put Kurt as their godparent to Mason Christopher Hudson. Kurt had stood their shocked by the words the officers we're telling him. The child services handed him the baby along with his diaper bag and some formula.
Quinn and Finn had died instantly that day, both of them being brain dead from glass getting into their skulls and killing them on the scene. The driver across from them was perfect fine, only being charged with First degree Manslaughter, and drunk driving.
_____
Mason was screaming and crying and only three months old along with teething. Kurt groaned helplessly, giving up on getting him into some cute little clothes. "Okay fine have it your way, but if you complain when your older about how you were in a onesie at age 3 months don't complain to me." Kurt huffed out exhausted from the night before only getting 3 hours of sleep.
Changing the fussing baby into the onesie, Kurt slipped his sweat pants on with his hoodie on, grabbing their already packed suitcase from the hallway. This thanksgiving Kurt was gonna meet up his parents along with Mercedes, and Tina and the Lopez-Pierces, in which his parents will be babysitting little Mason for the day.
Hailing the taxi after 10 minutes Kurt feared he may miss his flight to Lima, because it was only an hour away. Arriving at the New York airport with a stroller, and baby car seat dragging behind him, Kurt went through check outs and security before happily making his way towards the boarding place.
Cursing when he bumped into a man, he knelt down holding Mason in his carrier strapped over his back where he sits and plays with my drawstrings, he glanced up at the other equally stressed man across from him. "Blaine Anderson." Kurt said wide eyed, quickly picking up his papers and handing them to him. "Oh my god."
Blaine looked back up at him, his haw opening just a little while he took in the fussing baby Kurt was currently trying to calm down. "Shh, Sweetie, it's okay.. Calm down." Kurt whispered rubbing the babies back until he finally calmed down. "Oh my god, Hi." Kurt said quietly, shying away.
"Hey, Kurt." Blaine replied, scratching the back of his neck taking his papers Kurt handed to him. "How are you? You seem happy?" Blaine motioned over to Mason held in his carrier. Kurt nodded slowly and smiled slightly. "Good, That's great. Me too!" Blaine knew it was a total lie considering all things that has happened, but he happily smiled at his former high school boyfriend.
"We are now boarding all Babies, and elders or people with special needs to flight gate number 13 to Lima." The voice over the intercom spoke overtop of everyone. Kurt slouched and nodded his head towards the gates.
"I have to go, but you have my number." Kurt smiled softly at him before picking up his carry on bag once and heading off towards the gate where the line up was being created.
"Say hello to your Boyfriend for me." Blaine shouted towards Kurt, laughing quietly at his own pathetic state. His heart going heavy but a smile grew on his face when he heard Kurt reply with;
"I don't have one. I'm single." Kurt smiled to himself slightly before walking onto the plane suddenly much more excited for the plane ride now.
