Never Again

secrets and end of a friendship

Cae and I sat by the waterfall until the sun came up, sharing stories of our lives in the mainland. I told Cae of my adventures with Peter and Hale. I told him things that I could never tell Hale in a million years. Girl talk if you will.

When the sun was fully past the horizen Cae and I decided to walk back to the bunker. Hale was back and having an argument with Peter. Hales face was getting red and Zak was uncomfortablly standing near the trees.

"Guys?" I said. No response. "Guys." I tried again, nothing."BOYS!!!!" both heads snapped up, Hale glaring at me. He flew off towards the mountain.

"Peter what was that about" I asked?

"Oh you know Hale, always trying to take whats mine." actually I didn't know, this was news to me.

"Why? What happend?" Peter just looked at Cae and then at Zak. This wasn't something that he wanted to say in front of them.

"Hey Zak, why don't I show you the lagoon," Cae suggested. Zak couldn't have been more happy to get out of this situation,

"Peter what happend." i asked again?

"When Hale got back this morning I asked him where he had been. Which by the way I saw that you weren't here this morning either" he gave me a pointed look, minor hurt passing through his eye. "anyway Hale jsut said that he was looking for his mother. I knew better because I ran into him at a house once, looking into a girls window. This was the girl that I had been watching for awhile. I asked Hale about it and he just brushed me off. I told him to back off and that I had found the girl first, and that's when you came in."

I gave myself a couple minutes to think about what he just said, but all I could think of was that he was watching a girl. A girl that lived on the mainland. A girl that wasn't me. Peter would never like me back, he was too wrapped up with this girl. This explains so much! And now Hale was after her too? My best friend and the guy I loved after the same girl.

"Peter maybe you should go talk to him." I said after awhile.

"No the git can come and talk to me if he wants. He should know better then to take my girl." His girl, my mouth went dry.

"Well if I'm such a git then maybe I'll go live in the other side of the island." Hale said coming down from a tree. He had heard everything.

"Fine by me" said Peter. When did all this hostility happen? had I really been this clueless?

"Come on Delly." I looked at Hale.

"What?" I asked.

"I said come on, come to the other side with me." I didn't know what to say to this. My head was whirrling.

"Maybe she doesn't want to go with you." Peter said.

"And why is that?" Hale asked with a jeer in his voice. I didn't think I could take much more of this arguing and confusion. I flew up and towards the mainland with shouts happening behind me.The last thing I heard was Hale.

"I guess I know who you choose to be your friend. We're through." I stopped in midair looking down at him with tears in my eyes. He flew off to the mountains, the darker part of Neverland. Peter just jumped into the bunker and was gone. I had just lost my best friend. How many other secrets was Peter and Hale keeping from me. Why was Hale leaving me?

I didn't end up in the mainland, I decided to lay down on a cloud and shut my eyes. I couldn't go to the waterfall because that was a place for me and Hale and he had declared that we weren't friends anymore. Over another girl. 

I guess I had fallen asleep becuase, well, I woke up. I was still on the cloud thankfully, I usually fall off. I stretched and floated down to the island. I walked for a ways before decided going in a specific direction, Fairy Hollow.

Tink is usually with Peter if anywhere and I'm sure she is with him now. I love watching the fairies work. There is a ball that they are having soon and welcoming several new fairies. The king and queen of the fairies host a ball every few months.

A couple fairies said hello but many kept going with their jobs.Maybe I should just go back to the bunker and sleep. Yeah, that sounded like a good idea. Sleep. I yawned and flew into the sky to my home. Slipping down the shoot I almost tripped on a root at the end, every dam time.

No one was there, Cae and Zak must still be wonering Neverland and Peter is probably at the mainland watching that girl. I didn't even care where Hale was at this point. He was done with me and I didn't have the energy to try to find him. He and Peter were so immature at times but we usually got through it, or so I thought.

I walked around the bunker and without paying attention I hit my head on a low, thick root. I dont know if I was just over tired or what but the hit in the head knocked me out.

My vision went fuzzy and I blacked out.
