"I'm a criminal! Thanks to you and your client" Aisha barked at Clara, as we walked into her office and I shot the door behind us.

After I made the fire alarm go off a huge scene was created at the hotel and people and we had the perfect opening to escape. We took the body to the morgue and payed for it to be kept secretly for a week. Clara had connections there and had made sure that it'd all remain confidential

My mind was a mess with thoughts flying all over the place. What did she have in mind? Was I going to jail? Was there an end to all this drama?

"Yeah, that might just come in handy should you try to be a dick anytime in the nearest future." Clara retorted smiling uncontrollably like she hit the jackpot. Aisha's brows narrowed into a fierce frown and then her face was relaxed in less than a second.

"I guess we're even then."

"Yeah, totally!" Clara chuckled

I was so lost. These two had a lot of hate vibes emanating from either side but still stayed together for some reason. Their relationship was already confusing, these words they had just spoken were like the topping on ice cream. What did Aisha have on Clara previously for them to become even based on recent events?

The room fell dead silent as all four of us exchanged glances.

"You like have a plan, right? Because I don't see this ending here as a good thing for any of us. What was the conclusion of your chat with Chief?" Bode broke the silence.

Our eyes fell on Clara, hopeful that she wouldn't tell us she had no idea of the way forward. She was the boss and had to live up to it this time.

"Actually..." We were prepared for the worst as she prolonged the word. "I don't have a plan, just instructions from Chief."

I swung my arms in the air and went down with them to sit on the floor. Not again! We were done for, if we couldn't figure out a way to carry out his instructions. God please help me, just this time. I'll be a good girl. I'll go to church, just please help!

"He wants us to find the killer and frame him for his crime. Which is why we have to be quick enough to retrieve the body from the morgue in less than a week ." she continued like all she was saying was a piece of cake.

"So... You're saying we should play detective, criminal and then detective again?" Aisha asked confused. This had even Aisha beat.

Clara nodded.

This had got to be the biggest joke I'd been told in my entire life. How on earth were we going to find one person out of the millions living in Lagos state? Yet we just had to try.

I heard the door open and I turned around to find Ifeoma. She was on the phone conversing in Igbo . I went ahead with my packing. I was returning home today. I had returned very late from work the previous day and was so tired from all the brain storming that I couldn't follow them to church for the family thanksgiving that Sunday morning.
