Stalker's POV

The man I was tailing is a high value target.

And I could see why.

Rather I could tell simply by the way he walked.

His foot steps were silent. He walked confidently in the alleys that was always littered with sex offenders and all kind of other criminals. And he had that certain swagger when he walked, that only skilled fighters had.

But more than that.

His presence.

He didn't have presence.

It is like he's not even there.

If I was not tailing him, I would not even know he was walking on the same street as me.

It's unnerving really.

Ducking behind a stall, I continued to follow him in the shadows. My eyes never left his cloaked figure.

Stepping over a drunk man, he pushed open the tavern doors and entered.

Just as I was about to follow him into the tavern, I hesitated.

Should I even be that near him?

Contemplating whether or not I should proceed, my employers words echoed at the back of my mind.

'Never let him out of your sight.'

Mentally slapping myself, "You can do this, come on. Man up Delphin." I whispered to myself as I pushed open the doors and settled down with a group of very drunk people.

They didn't even notice me sit down.

Discreetly snatching a passed out drunk's tankard I took a sip before continuing to eye my target. He was talking softly to the bar man when he gave him a tankard with whipped cream and cherries.

"That looks sweet." I whispered bitterly to myself, growing a bit envious as I never had the luxury to eat such things when I pleased.

"Huh, what's sweet? W-who said that!!!" the passed out drunk sitting in front of me suddenly hollered before passing out again falling face flat on the table.

Rolling my eyes at the drunk, I stiffened upon realizing what I was here for.

Sneaking a peek, I thought I was found out but the bar man and the my target didn't even spare a glance my way.

I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding.

Thank heavens, they were so immersed in their conversation they didn't even notice me.

I continued to study him when he suddenly spat out his beer.

This caused me to raise my eyebrows. Was there something in his drink?

I couldn't see his face from my angle but I could tell he had an exasperated look on his face.

Just when the bar man began to mop the floor he beckoned him closer and he whispered something into his ear as he slipped something into the bar man's pocket. The bar man said nothing and returned behind the counter.

Smirking, the Bar man said something  to my target.

I don't what it was what the bar man said, but whatever it was. it was the cause of the sudden change in his aura.

If before it was like he was not even there, now with him being in the bar. the atmosphere suddenly became tense. I was not the only one who noticed this change as the patrons in the room suddenly became aware of the anomaly in their presence. Even the drunks in my table suddenly sobered up as soon as they sensed it.
