The Present

"You cannot do thisssss, Tord!" Jon shot back at Tord. Tord started up the car's engine and said, "Really? Just watch me."

"Tord," Jon said softly. He looked very worried and grim. "Please don't go down thisssssss path, Tord! You will cause a lot more killing and pain and suffering than you think!"
"Well, at least, that means I take over the world, right?"

Jon looked at him, sadly, then said, "Your choice, your mistake." And then, in a flash of blue light, he was gone, leaving Tord to ponder his words.

It had been about two or three hours since Jon had disappeared, and it had been about 10:00 pm when that happened. And now it was 12:45 am. Tord has fallen asleep for an hour, then awoken. Now he was awake. And, suddenly, a weird, eerie feeling sank into him again.

"Jon?" He called out in the car, but there was no reply. About four minutes later, a voice said, "Hi, sir." Tord looked at the passenger seat and saw the Ghost of his old, and, one of the most loyal soldier he'd ever had. It was Paul.

"H-hi. Hi, Paul."

Paul smiled and said, "Ready to see your present self?" And, before Tord could even give an answer (which he knew had to been a "yes"), Paul grabbed his hand with his icy-cold one and said, "To the presentttttt!" And then there was a moment of darkness, before they reached their destination.

"Ah! We're here!" Paul said, somewhat happily. Tord looked around. "Uh, Paul?" He said, confused. "Yeah?"
The Ghost asked back.
"Where...are we?" He asked. They were on a road, with cars passing by. He continued to look around, when he saw his present self walking angrily down the road, stomping and, at one point, he screamed in anger. Tord watched as his past self finally ran, and Tord saw tears filing his eyes and then finally cry, running so fast, he was past the horizon line quite quickly. Tord watched this, then turned to Ghost Paul.

"What was that...?" He asked. Paul turned to him as well. "Ah, that was you in about 20 minutes."
"Wouldn't that make it my future, not my present?"
"Well, yeah, I guess. But only mere minutes in, not the years into the future to come. But! My time is almost up here, sir. So let's go back!"

And, with that, they went into darkness once more.

Returning to continue the path that Tord was walking on right now.
