It's not Like that! / My First Alolan Rival

Ok *ahem* (changes to deep narrating voice)  Now that Sun has FINALLY (1 year later) found the Kahuna he gets to decide and choose his first Alola Pokemon. GREAT.... Who will he choose?

Sun's POV

"Well let's not waste anymore time, come out pokemon show him what your made of!" With that the Kahuna threw 3 pokeballs into the air. As soon as they hit the ground, the three starter Pokemon appeared out of the balls. My eyes drew to the one on the far left, who was smaller then the others. Who looked exactly like a baby owl. Except... CUTER!

It's even got a cute little bow tie! Awwwwww~~~ *ahem*  NEXT!!!

The next Pokemon looked like Meowth from back home. With fiery red patterns running over its flank. It had a bored expression in its eyes.

Is it me, or does this kitty not want to be here right now?

Last but hopefully not least was a seal, who looked liked it escaped from the circus. Covered in blue, except for it's mouth and nose.

With a big red nose like that it looks like a clown, all it needs now is some clown clothes and a small motor car. Its appearance isn't the only thing that is surprising. In fact I can almost feel a connection with this pokemon.... of being unappreciated..... and lonely......

"Which will you choose as your partner Sun?"

AHH! GEEZ, DON'T SURPRISE ME WHEN I'M CONTEMPLATING MY LIFE!!!

"Oh, yeah.... my partner, uh let's see? "Of course, take all the time you need this will be your partner for life," the Kahuna flashed a big smile.

Why does it sound so much creeper when you say it like that? No, I cant think about that right now,  I need to see who my partner should be. Let us do this by process of elimination.
1. Litten - A small fire pokemon that looks pretty cool for its name. Judging from the pamphlet I read this morning it looks like it evolves into a cat version of John Cena. Also it dosen't even want to be here, let alone be my partner for life.
2. Popplio - A small clown seal, that belongs in the circus, and its final evolution reminds me of the little mermaid. Its pretty cute, but the more I'm around it, the more I feel depressed about my own life.
3. Rowlet - A small baby bird, that spins in a circle, and wears an adorable bowtie... ITS A KEEPER!!!

"Have you decided who your partner will be Sun?" I took a deep breath, "Yes Kahuna, I chose the grass-type Pokemon ROWLET!" The Kahuna crossed his arms in satisfaction, "Good, but only when you both have chosen each other, can you truly call each other partners. Sun, I want you to stand on the wooden podium." My heart pounded in suspense, "Yes Sir."
As I walked onto the podium my steps seemed to echo against the wood. The Kahuna walked onto the podium and stood in front of me, Rowlet in his arms. He set it down and slowly backed away. Rowlet turned his head toward Me, than the Kuhana, than me again.

This has got be the most intense staring contest ever...

Lillie's P.O.V

Watching Sun so focused I couldn't help but root for him, as he waited for Rowlet to choose him.

I don't know why, but I believe in you Sun, I just know that Rowlet will choose you. It will see the good I see inside of you, it just has to!

"Relax Lillie, Sun's got this in the bag." I jumped at Professor's voice, "H-uh, whatever do you mean Professor?" Professor Kuki chuckled, "Well, for one thing you look even more nervous than Sun right now, you look like a mom on her son's first day of school."
