The Existence [ On Hold ]

A Friend

Kusuma has finished building her dome. She has been trained to survive in every field, whether at beach, forest or mountain. It is painful if she remembers the day of torture. Actually it is not torture, but some person has their own difference limit. When it passes their limit, all training seems like torture. The training to survive in forest is the most unforgettable moment, when people had to walk and no water remained, but she love the ending, she can pass her limits.

At that time also she found her friend. A friend that appeared when she almost passed the limit. She almost decided to surrender, but she surpassed it after she heard a sound that told her to take a deep breath slowly. She didn't care where the sound came from, she was almost unconscious because of her blood pressure dropped. It happened when she had no energy left in her body. Her stomach was empty, her energy boiled along with sunrise light that burnt her skin deep into her whole body. She followed the instruction from the sound. She took a deep breath, slowly breath then suddenly she felt more energy came surrounding her body. It lifted her body weight, she felt light more likes she can fly. Wonderful. A smile came to her face and brightness in her face told that she was not loss her blood pressure anymore. She could run the the hill until she reached the shelter where her senior waited for congratulation. She took a deep breath. What a relief she could pass the training. Moreover, she can pass her limit.

Kusuma was a young girl with big enthusiasm to explore the nature. She likes climbing, swimming, and walking. After she passed the training for survival, she climbs a mountain once a month or just walks through the beach. Those activities make her so close to nature. She has got many friends from community. Sometimes they became close although they have just known each other. People are so cute everywhere. They see each other's taste even by only talking in a glance. Sometime love story comes up in the way.

Slowly, Kusuma take her breathe deeply. There is usually always someone build the dome for her. A friend or may can be called as someone special. A man of course, no a boy. He has faced his death so that maybe in this year he has became a man, the same age with her. A death was not his sorrow. She doesn't know whether he died or not. He just disappeared maybe with his whole body and Kusuma think it was just a death. Death was something curious for him, something fun. Therefore he looking the way for death. He live in different view of life. Even he is at his enjoyment the last time leaving me for his journey. Everyday Kusuma want to ask, how does his journey became. Today is the day he disappear from this world. She was informed that he disappear in this mountain, therefore every year she climb this mountain wanted to met him, but after six past years, she only fulfill the desire once, today is the second one.

In this way of living, Kusuma never find someone attractive as he is. So when he decided to go, leaving her behind, it is so painful. It almost six year after his left. They met in the young age, ten years ago. They met at Ungaran mountain. The lowest mountain in Central Java. On those time, the first time Kusuma climb a mountain and ended up with hypothermia. Everybody give their effort to make Kusuma awake, until a very short time, she cant withstand the cold. She got her fainted. In her unconsciousness, she felt her body became lighter, and it clearly shows that she can saw her body laying on the ground.

Surprisingly, she scream "Where am I?"
"Why I can see my body lay down there?"
"Do I have been death?"
In her confuse she desperate. Until she saw a young boy came to her.

"Are you surprise to where you are?" He asked
"Who are you?"
"I am nobody, I just want to ask you here. Do you curious for where you are? Have you any thought about your existence?"
"I don't know, I can't think. I want to go back to where I belong. Can I?"
"That is why I asking you, if you have nothing curious about your existence then you can go back, but if you have, I will take you a little longer here?" he explained.
"What? No. Thanks, I don't have any of that"
After the conversation, she looked at right, they were many shadow walk forward to their position.
"Lets go, you will no go back if they reach us"
He grabbed her hand, quick as it was until she didn't know where they were belong.

"Kusuma, Kusuma wake up" slowly she heard a crowd voice and then she opened her eyes. 'Owgh, there is a star I can see, so different with the world I have been entered right before. Is it the death world. And who the boy is... '

"O...God, it is a relief you're back. I'm really worried. What will I tell to your family if you're not come back" the voice come from a boy beside her. He is her neighbor, boarding house neighbor. They just knew each other because they always met when they walk to the college but rarely talked. Someday they got a chance in a little talk when they walked to campus together, about hobbies, hiking. And then one day he asked her whether she wanted to join him on hiking or not, climbing the mountain.

"I still cold" she whispered
"I know I know, put this blanket in your hand palm and scrub it each other. It will make your hand warm, if it is not work I will hug you if you don't mind"
She put the blanket and scrubbed it trying to avoid his hug, fortunately the scrub movement distracted her focus so that she didn't think about cold anymore and she can endure the mid night cold attack until sunrise came up.

'Beautiful sunrise!!!'
She saw the sun that rise from the east of the mountain. The orange ray was shining through the whole sky. Perfectly decorated with the sea of clouds. Kusuma felt happier especially after what happened in her last night. The beautiful scene of sunrise suddenly changed when she saw someone she thought she knew, the boy. Although she just saw his back, Kusuma can felt that it was the boy. He leaned on the tree watching the same sunrise. Kusuma took her walk approaching him.

"You..." the boy looked to where the sound came
"What?" he answered calmly
"Do you want to ask me something about last night?" he asked seem liked he knew everything
"How..., how do you get there and now you are here like it is naturally for you?" she asked with a tremble sound
"Of course, I have been like this before we met"

The memories come out from Kusuma head. Now, it only can be remembered. The first time she met her friend, Wijaya. He is also the reason Kusuma take this adventure. She wants to met him. She thinks she can meet him in her unconsciousness, perhaps. She ever thought to do that, in the time when she desperately need him in her life, but she never tried it out. So, she manage when she reach the top of the mountain, she will try that idea.
