"I thought I saw the devil, this morning. Looking in the mirror drop of rum on my tongue, with a warning. To help me see myself clearer, I never meant to star a fire, I never meant to make you bleed. I'll be a better man today."
She skipped through the meadow filled to the brim with Roses, Spider Lily's, Blue bells, and Forget me not's.
"I'll be good, I'll be good. And I'll love the world like I should."
A bouquet of flowers resided in her grip, with pep in her step, the little girl continued to skip through the meadow until she reached a shallow river.
"For all of the times that I never could."
Dipping her toe into the crystal water, she admired it before stepping in, and walking back out, continuing her journey.
"My past has tasted bitter; For years now. So I wield an iron fist, grace is just weakness. Or so I've been told I've been cold, I've been merciless."
Her long black hair flew in the wind, "But the blood on my hands, scares me to death. Maybe I'm waking up... today."
Her crooked feet carried her down a similar path. One she was used to, for years now.
"I'll be good, I'll be good, and I'll love the world like I should... Woah"
Ducking underneath the rigid branches, her hazel eyes squinted as she searched for something. "For all of the light that I shut out, for all of the innocent things that doubt. For all of the bruises I've caused and the tears, for all of the things that I've done... All. These. Years."
Two crosses sat side by side. The wood they were made from, was rotting all over, but she paid no mind. Instead she sat on her knees. and laid the bouquet of flowers on the graves.
"For all of the sparks that I've stomped out, for all of the perfect things that I doubt."
Placing a hand upon her lips, she kissed it gingerly and placed it on the left cross first, and the right one second. Closing her eyes, she clasped her hands together and muttered a silent prayer along the words of: "Forgive me, Mother and Father."
She rose from the ground and sauntered away, finishing the remainder of the song. "I'll be good, I'll be good, and I'll love the world like I should. I'll be good, I'll be good. I'll be good, I'll be good."
'Ephidi.'
"Ephidi!"
She was awake. Snatching the hand that touched her in an iron grip.
"What." She commanded shooting a glare her way.
A girl towered over her, shooting another menacing glare back.
"Let go of me"
It may have came out in a whisper, but she was dead serious. Her green eyes stared Ephidi dead in the face, intimidating her almost
"NOW!"
Releasing her ice skin, Ephidi got up and shoved her into the wall. Making her way into the bathroom. 'Unna better learn her damn place.'
She washed her face in the sink and ran her still wet hands through her hair darker than night. Hazel irises stared right back at her as she contemplated weather or not to brush her teeth before or after breakfast.
Grabbing her pitch black toothbrush from the stand, she had applied the minty paste in her mouth first, then the dry brush and scrubbed. After two minuets she gargled some water and brushed again before rising her mouth once more.
