"There's a center to him!" Peter answered. He let go, climbing up to the control room. I stayed below, trying the comprehend what just happened. My body still ached from eairlier. My legs hurt the worst. They shook, making me bend over slighty. I sat down on the rusted floor.
"You okay?" I looked up to see Gamora standing beside me. I nodded, getting up again. My legs shook, a dn I grabbed the thing closest to me. I could feel the ship beginning to take off. We were all forced downward, hitting the floor. I could hear the ship cracking under the pressure. I lied on the ground, wishing I had never convinced Peter to come.
"You told me you were going to eat me!" Peter yelled.
"That was being funny!" Youndu called back.
"Not to me!"
"You've got issues Quill!" Rocket yelled.
"Of course I have issues." Peter called. "That's my freakin' father!"
We blasted off again, breaking free of Ego's grip. We flew out the window, shooting downwards.
"We're supposed to be going up!" Youndu called.
"We can't! Ego wants to destroy the universe as we know it!" Peter yelled, jerking with the controls. The ship leaned at a vertical angle. We all leaned forward, making me fall to the wall. I blacked out, falling on my face. I awoke to see the other wall gone, and the core of Ego. The structure holding it in place, looked weak.
"There." Mantis said. "That's Ego's core." She pointed towards the ball, suspended by the weak structures. We pulled up next to the core.
"Rocket!" Peter called.
"That ore is thick, Rocket." Gamora muttered.
"I got it covered. Keep it steady." Rocket began working the controls. Lasers shot out, pushing the ship back a little. We awatied in anticipation for it to finally end. I wanted so badly to go up there and apologize. If I hadn't taked Peter into this, we wouldn't be here. We where forced back again, his time more sudden. I flew out the broken wall, putting my feet out in front of me. Luckily, I hit the ground, feet first. Not to long after, Gamora, Drax, and Mantis joined me. Out of no where, light shot across a rock wall. It took the shape of Ego's face. His mouth opened, sending a ball of light at us.
"Didn't you say you could make him sleep?" Drax yelled.
"Only when he wants. He's to powerful!" She called back.
"You don't have to believe in yourself, because I believe in you!"
Mantis quicky kneeled down, grabbing the exposed nerve.
"Sleep!"
The face and ball of light disappeared.
"I didn't think she could do it! Considering how weak and skinny she appears to be!"
I rolled my eyes, searching for the ship.
"I don't know how long I can hold him!" Mantis called. She was nearly in tears. I looked to Gamora, hoping she had some sort of advice on comfort.
"What in the world?" Gamora pointed to the sky. It was the ship. It was surrounded by soverien crafts. I could see Peter flying into the broken wall.
"Peter, you idiot, get out of there!" I whispered. Lasers shot out every direction, hitting every single craft. Hundreds of lasers bursted from the ship, while sparks showered us. A chunk of debree flew into the yellow ship. Suddenly, the craft exploded.
"Peter! NO!" I yelled. I could feel tears welling up in my eyes. I covered my face, hiding my tears. I hated crying, but Peter was worth every tear. I heard the sound of someone hitting the ground, I quickly looked up, hoping it would be him. Nebula stood there, lookig at us all. She looked back up at the grey cloud of smoke. Peter and Youndu descended, making my stress melt away.
"I'm Mary Poppins ya'll!" Youndu called. I ran up to Peter, holding him tightly. I stood on my tip toes, and kissed him. He held my back, and brought me close to him.
"Get a room!" Rocket yelled. I ignored his comment, and tilted my head. I released, and looked at Peter.
We started to lean in, for another kiss, but where interupted by Ego. The ground started cracking, and shaking. Peter picked me up, bridal style, hoping I would not fall. We turned, seeing Gamora falling.
"GAMORA!" Peter called. Nebula rolled her eyes, and jumped in after her.
"Is she crazy?" I asked.
"Peter!" It was Ego. This time, his face was made of stones. Those cursid tenticals shot up again. Pain from earlier ran through my head.
"I've got you." Peter kissed my forehead.
"Drax, take mantis!" He placed the arrowraid on his back, and he flew up.
"Peter! Look out!" I called. One of the arms flew towards us. Peter put the helmet on, and crouched over me. We flew forwards, smaking the ground.
"You okay?" He asked. I could hear pain in his voice, and nodded, ignoring my back. Peter pushed the button behind his ear, making the mas dissappear.
"I love you." He whispered. He cradled my head in his hand, and I grabbed his arm, sinking into his warm touch. He brought his lips to mine, hugging me tightly. He placed his arrowraid on my back, and snt me flying upward.
"Peter! No!" I streched forth my hand, but I was barely to far. Our fingers brushed, and I knew that was probably the last time I would see him.
"NO!" I cried. I flew up to surface, seeing the ship. I was standing at the crevase, looking down. I was trying to decide if I should jump back down, or go to the ship.
"Cmon!" Gamora called. I looked down, and back to the ship. Sand and dust blew everywhere. I ran towards the ship, praying Peter would come soon.
