We stepped out onto a platform, floating away from the ship. The place was amazing. Colors where everwhere, decorating the surroundings. Peter looked around in awe. Bubbles floated above us, changing color and shape. It was mesmerizing. We connected to a bridge, and walked off. We walked past a beautiful fountain. I stopped, looking at it.
"You can destroy hundreds of ships, without a suit. What are you exactly?" Gamora asked.
"I'm what you call a celestial, sweetheart." He said. Peter looked at me in shock, and looked to Ego. "A celestial, like a god?"
"Small G's son." He said, turning to the four of us. He turned back around, and continued up the stairs. We walked into a beautiful structure, and stopped.
"I don't know where I came from. All I remember was flickering." Ego explained. I looked around in awe. The place was gorgeous. Absolutely mesmerizing. I muted the sound around me, focusing on the architecture. I was brought back by Peter putting his hand in mine. We contiued walking and Ego kept talking. We stopped walking, Ego turning to peter. "It was with merideth when I first felt love. From that love, Peter, came you. When I heard of a man from earth who held an infinity stone, without dying. I knew he was the son of the wman I loved." Peter looked at ego, with an almost angry look.
"If you loved her, why did you leave her?"
Ego stopped, and put up his hand, shaking it. He look nervous. Drax, Mantis, and Gamora left, while Peter and I stayed with Ego. We stood in front of a statue of his mother. Peter was looking up, and I followed his gaze I put a hand on his back, and kissed his cheek. He turned to me, smiling. He kissed my cheek, and wrapped an arm around my waist.
"My mother had always said my father was from the stars. She had brain cancer, everyone thought she was delusional." Before Ego could say anything, Peter got serious, and slid his arm from my waist. "Look, I would love to believe all of this, but, you left the most wonderful woman in the world. You left her, to die, alone!"
"Peter, I didn't want to leave her. If I don't return to the light regularly, my form, and this planet will wither away." Peter shook his head, and turned away.
"So why didn't you come back!? Why did you send a crimnal, f all people, to come to fetch me!?"
"I loved your mother Peter!, I didn't want to walk on an earth where she wasn't living. You can't imagine what that's like!"
"I know exactly what that's like!" Peter yelled. "I had to watch her die!" I stopped my breathing, and looked to Peter. He was breathing heavily.
"Out of the millions of years, and many mistakes I have made, you are not one of them." Ego said calmly. Ego turned to me, then back at Peter. "We can talk later. Why don't I show you to your room." We walked into a bedroom, with a queen matress, and a deck. Ego left, and I placed my bag on a couch.
"Where is the other bed?" I asked. Peter shrugged, and put a tape in his walkman.
"Maybe we could share? Just for a few nights." He said. I rolled my eyes.
"Peter. I-"
"C'mon Kesmet." He walked over to me, and wrapped me in his arms. He began swaying to the beat of the song, swaying me with him.
"Either I sleep on the couch, or you do." Peter thought for a moment, and nodded. He was up to something, I could tell.
"I'll take the couch." He answered. He walked me out to the deck, and we continued to dance. I layed my head on his chest, as we swayed. He hugged me tightly, kissing my head every once in a while. I wrapped my arms around him tightly, hoing he was feeling a bit better.
"Babe, can you look up at me for a sec?" He asked. I looked up to him, and smiled. He had one of those smiles that could make anyone smile.
He kissed me again, this time on the lips. It was a loving kiss, one that made me blush. i melted into him, and wrapoed my arms around his neck. He began to walk into the room. He released, still holding me close. He kissed my cheek, and smiled.
"Why are we inside?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Privacy. Like you said earlier, we don't want anyone walking seeing us kiss."
"That isn't what I said. Plus, there is no one else here." He continued swaying, turning in a slow circle. I placed my hand in his, and we danced about the room. The song ended, leaving us in silence.
"That was nice." I said, stepping back.
"It doesn't have to be over." He smiled. He walked over to his bag. He pulled pulled out a mixtape. "This one is your favorite." He said.
Before he could place the tape into the walkman, Ego walked in.
"Is this a bad time." He asked.
"Yeah, kinda." Peter said, looking back at me.
"I will be back later. I need to make a few trips."
"A few trips? Right before the sunset?" I thought. Somehing felt off, but I pushed it away.
"Um, ok, bye...dad." Peter said awkwardly. After a few minutes of silence, I could hear the song play. "Bring it on home" by a man named Sam Cook filled the air. I began to sing along. Peter walked over to me, and grabbed my hands. He pulled me close to him as we danced. He twirled me around, and brought me back to his chest. The sky glowed an amber red. It was lovely. It felt like a fairy tale, and I never wanted it to end.
After the song ended, I looked out at the sky.
"Wow. This place is amazing." I looked out across the colorful plains.
"Not as beautiful as you." Peter smirked.
"Oh, please. Will you stop with those stupid lies?" I mumbled. Peter rolled his eyes, and walked closer to me.
"I am not lying, okay? I love you a lot. I find you more beautiful than anything in the whole galaxy. I wish you would just accept that." He replied, smiling. I looked up at him, not knowing what to say. I felt guilty for saying he lied.
"Sorry." I mumbled, once again. He pulled me in, hugging me tightly.
*a little while later*
The stars where brighter then I have ever seen before. I could feel the tiredness creeping up on me. I walked into te room, seeing Peter asleep on the couch. He looked half awake, but I didn't think much of it. I put my pj's on, and walked out to the deck. It was cold, but the stars where beautiful. A chill ran down my spine, and I went inside. I got into the large queen matress. I felt kinda bad, making Peter sleep on that couch. "I'll figure something out." I thought. I doze off, sinking into the matress.
