It had been almost two years to the day when Talia and Leon started dating, Talia stopped cutting and in just one week she was going to be 18. Leon walked up behind her and hugged her tight then spun her around, hows my princess? He asked with a smile. I'm good my love, she said smiling back at him. So where would you like to go for your birthday? He asked her. Surprise me, she giggled
They walked to class as normal and there was a new girl there. The new girl looked like a pretty little Barbie. She was all dolled up and had on the fancy clothes. She scream out stereotypical prep kid. Talia scoffed lightly and looked up only to see he obviously wasn't thinking the same as She was. Leon stared at her like she was everything, but also nothing. Talia looked up at Leon with this nasty sick, tense feeling in her body. She took a deep breath and ignored it as she grabbed his hand hoping he would see her instead, as she smiled at him they sat down in their seats as normal and class began. I listened to my music as I always did but this time he didn't seem to notice like he always did. He just seemed overly fixated on his work. They went through the day as they always had, meeting by the lockers, sitting together for lunch, meeting after every class, so forth.
Leon walked her home and gave her a kiss on the cheek as always but seemed distracted and wouldn't look her in the eyes and just wanted to get home. Talia tried grabbing his arm and he lightly pulled away and said he was just needing to hurry that he'd see her tomorrow then he walked off to his front door.
Talia walked in her empty house, her mother had been gone due to alcohol poisoning for almost a year now. She walked upstairs and couldn't get this feeling out of her stomach. Is something going on at home? He seemed to eager to he get home though so it couldn't be that. Maybe this new girl, that's when he got weird was when she slowed up. She looked the girl up on Facebook, her name was Haley Micheals. She looked through all her pictures only to find her and Leon kissing in one from 3 years ago. She dropped her computer and called Leon. Why didn't you tell me you knew her?! She exclaimed angrily. What do you mean? Who do I know? He asked trying to hide the truth knowing exactly "who" she was talking about. Don't lie to me Leon!!! I know you and that girl dated!!!! Is that why you've been so off??? He just sat there quietly not knowing how to get himself out of this. She quickly hung up and began crying. Her heart felt shattered, she couldn't breath, she felt betrayed. She started getting dizzy and gripped her chest as she passed out from an anxiety attack.
When she woke up she didn't hear Leon knocking like he did every morning, she was puzzled and hoped he'd show because they needed to talk. She got up and did what she normally did, took a shower, brushed her teeth, brushed her hair, got dressed, and headed down stairs for school. She kept to herself for the day, Leon tried to make small talk but avoided the main issue so she ignored him, she didn't understand why, but this pain in her body wouldn't go away and it had been ever since Haley showed up.
She walked into class and of course there was miss prim and pretty, Haley Michaels whom everyone now adored after only a day. Talia rolled her eyes and sat down and began to draw in her sketch book. She looked up and there Leon was, but only this time he didn't sit with her like normal, something was off..no..EVERYTHING was off. Leon didn't show up this morning, he didn't call me or text me, what's going on?! She thought to herself. And now he's sitting with HER of all people?! What the hell! How did she turn my life completely inside out in just a day? Talia found herself unable to breath, She had to get out of there, She had to run, but where? Where could she go and just think?
It was like a light bulb clicked in her head, she got up and stormed out of class and ran to the only spot nobody knew of. She started walking through the woods, ducked under branches climbed over limbs, went between the wires of a barbwired fence and then she was there. She smiled and took a deep breath looking at a cabin that had been there for years. She would run here when things got difficult with her mother and she hadn't been back since Leon showed up. I forgot all about this place. Ugh, shows what a boy can do to you.. She thought to herself as she walked inside and sat down on the couch.
Her eyes started to water, this sinking feeling wouldn't go away. Why wouldn't he tell me? What happened with them? Does he still love her? What is going on! She started crying harder than she had ever cried before. Her whole world felt like it was being sucked into a black hole. As Talia laid there and cried herself to sleep, as someone started walking up to the cabin she stayed asleep only to wake up to a shocking sight.
