Leon looked at Talia confused, is everything okay? He asked with deep concern. Talia hugged back and took a deep breath smiling, everything is fine, don't worry. She couldn't possibly tell him what happened. Then it would just be that pity look all over again from someone new. She sighed and started walking to class, he's going to be the exact same as Kaine, let's just hope he realizes sooner than later that I'm just a lost cause. She thought to herself watching the ground as she walked to her desk and sat down.
She put her ear bud in her left ear, Leon sitting on her right, she took out her textbooks and started taking notes while listening to her favorite song If I'm James Dean you're Audrey Hepburn by Sleeping with sirens. Leon looked over as she started singing under her breath not paying attention. He smiled at her and leaned in whispering, you have a nice voice, you should sing more. Her face went bright red and her head bolted up as she looked over at him in shock, not thinking anyone was listening, w-why are you like this? She whispered. Like what? Enjoyable and fun? He laughed quietly and looked back at the front of the room and continued his notes.
Talia just sat and stared at him, she didn't know what to think. Was he going to be just like Kaine? Or maybe he's different? She couldn't stop thinking about him all day aftet that. She was in a loss in her own mind. So many thoughts rushing through, she couldn't think straight at all. What did he do to me? Can someone so stupid affect me this much?? She thought to herself confused. Finally school had ended it was 4:00pm and she dreaded the time everyday. She clinched her fists and proceeded to walk home.
M-mom... I-I'm home..she choked out more terrified than ever, not knowing if her moms temper was going to be even worse today. She walked upstairs like normal put her stuff in her room and went down to the kitchen to start dinner. an hour had passed since she got home as she looked at the clock. 5:45pm and she still isn't home? Normally she'd be screaming I'm not cooking fast enough. She turned off the burners and went to check around the house. Her mother really wasn't home. She sighed with relief as she went to the kitchen to eat dinner and put the rest away in the fridge and cleaned up. By now it was 7:00pm and still no sign of her mother. Something was very wrong. Talia went upstairs and took a shower and proceeded to do her homework when she got a call from the bar. Well, I found her at least. She sighed as she answered the phone. Talia: Hey Joe, is she passed out there? Do I need to come get her?
Joe: Talia.. Something bad happened
Talia: What do you mean?
Joe: Your mother was just rushed to the er, she started puking blood again, but this time there was a black colour in with it, I knew it had to be bad so I got an ambulance here.
Talia too a deep breath and tried not to panic.
Talia: What hospital is she at?
Joe: Rose End Mercy. Do you know how to get there?
Talia: Yeah I can get there. thanks Joe.
Talia hung up the phone and rushed to the hospital as quick as she could only to find her mother in the hospital bed, restrained, and looked like death himself.
Talia: Excuse me miss, I'm Sandra Calins daughter. What happened?
Nurse: She came in with sever alcohol poisoning. And good thing she got here when she did. She could have been dead by now.
Talia: Is she gunna be okay?
Nurse: She'll be fine after a few days in here, were going to need you to fill out her chart for her.
Talia grabbed the chart and began filling it out in the chair next to her mothers bed. They came in every hour on the hour almost just to take more blood tests.
It had been four days and Talia finally went home, she bathed, got dressed, ate, and laid down in her bed exhausted. She checked her phone and nothing. Still empty, no texts, no calls. I don't see why I check this damn thing. Nobody talks to me anyways! She said as she threw her phone across the room. She sighed, I can't believe I missed four days of school, I'm gunna be way behind. Great. She put a pillow over her face and just went to sleep. When she woke up all she wanted was to just disappear and have everything go away. Maybe everything would be better if I wasn't here. She thought to herself.
Leon knocked on the door, Talia, you home? Ready to go to school?
She looked outside, is he seriously bothering me right now? Ugh! I don't have time to deal with him today. She sighed and calmed down a bit. Opening the door ready to yell and be rude she paused and looked at him confused.
Tali: What are you holding in the box?
Leon: Just a surprise I got for you, ya know, being my new friend and all.
Talia looked so confused and grabbed the box only to find a Sleeping with Sirens  long sleeve shirt in there. Talia screamed and jumped on him, hugging him tightly.
Talia: THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU
Leon laughed at her and hugged her gently. She ran upstairs and got ready for school, she was so excited she couldn't breath. She put on the shirt and ran back down to him. As they walked to school together all she could do was think about him, and how he was already making a change in her life.
