The pain, the emotion and the pressure,
Have surrounded my soul,
Created a hole
So great I cannot measure,
My pain, my emotions and my own pressure
That I inflict upon myself.
I wish I could write it all down,
All my thoughts spinning round and round,
And place it on a shelf,
A place both secure and free,
Where I can be opened,
Where I can be closed,
Where I can be me.
Anything to get away,
Anything to escape,
My own self rape.
Just let me pray,
Pray to be released,
Pray to be contained,
Pray to open the lid,
To let my soul fly free.
But keep the lid closed,
I’m too afraid,
Just ease the lid,
But only a little,
From the pain, the emotions and the pressure.
Of myself.
