The screens filled the entire wall. They displayed a dozen hidden cameras in a seemingly empty room. The floor in the dimly lit room was a glistening surface that seemed a little too... flexible? The right word didn't come to mind. The walls were made of softwood. The only other thing that was visible on the screens was that in the exact middle of the room there was a little table. On it was a little box present. The screen display was too small to see what kind of box it was. The cameras were positioned in such a manner that there wasn't a single blind spot.
There was an unconscious man slouched in one of the four corners. There were no injuries visible, but it was very unlikely that the process of getting the man into the room would have left him completely unscathed. If you looked closely you could see that more than half of the man's legs had disappeared into the flexible, no, liquid floor.
"Petrol," Kai said with a grin on his face. He leaned over Kyungsoo's right shoulder, who was sitting in a chair in front of the screens, to reach for the control panel and zoomed one of the cameras in on the table. "The liquid is petrol and that's a box of matches. He has to find the antidote to the poison running through his veins inside of the wall with the matches as his only source of light. Meanwhile, the clock will be ticking."
Kyungsoo looked at the other with a mortified look in his eyes; Kai smiled like a toddler who had just been given a lollypop. From the explanation, Kai had given it became clear that this man was not supposed to survive. "This is fun to you?" Kai cocked his head sideways. "Of course, why wouldn't it be?" "You're mercilessly murdering an innocent person and this is fun?" Kyungsoo's eyes were filled with unbelief. He had always known that Kai was a murderer, but he didn't know he was capable of going to such lengths.
"First off, he isn't innocent. Secondly, this is what you call art darling." He said with eyes that lit up and an ever-present grin. "What do you mean he's not innocent? Is he a criminal?" The question made Kai laugh. "No, he's not a criminal. He's actually a police officer. Mind you, not a very good one, it was way too easy to drug him. His name is Bryce Andrewson, ring a bell?" Kyungsoo shook his head, how would he know a police officer? "Okay, I'll tell you. He is the man that arrested your daddy dearest. I thought you'd appreciate that."
Kyungsoo tried to get up, he would do anything to save that person. The man had only been doing what his superiors had told him to do when he took away his father. Kyungsoo couldn't bear the thoughts of letting another human being die while he could have stopped it. He wouldn't be able to live with himself. Kai held him down. Had it been a few weeks prior Kyungsoo might actually have been stronger than Kai, but due to his loss of muscle and constant exhaustion he couldn't withstand the hands keeping him strapped to the chair.
He gave up trying to get out of the chair, knowing he wasn't strong enough. He hated himself for it. He hated the fact that he had caved into Kai's will so easily. He hated the fact that he hadn't the willpower to oppose the murderer. But most of all he hated himself.
The man on the screen stirred. "Ah, looks like he'll wake up soon," Kai said excitedly. He was right. The man woke up in complete panic. Kyungsoo understood how the man was feeling, he had felt exactly the same only a little over two weeks ago. "Ah, it's starting," Kai said as he flashed his bright teeth. The man started desperately screaming for help, in the hope someone would find and rescue him. Kai relaxed his arms a bit but still left them resting on Kyungsoo's shoulders. He spoke softly with a voice full of excitement, "that's your cue darling. It is show time, now let out the beast."
"What are you talking about?" he asked, already dreading the answer. Kai made an 'awe' sound, the one you make when you see a puppy, "You didn't think I'd just have you watch without letting you have any fun now, did you? I'm not that cruel." He said while strongly and sarcastically emphasizing the 'that'. "I want you to go and have some fun with your gift. From now on lose control, unleash the beast that has been hiding for a long time."

"I-I erm..." Kyungsoo stuttered. He had been led into another room. This one contained only one screen, a camera, and a chair. The guy on the other side of the screen was asking, no, pleading for help but Kyungsoo was powerless. Kai stood leaning against the wall behind the camera mocking him with his amused glance. He held up a notebook with text written on it and mouthed 'read it'. Kyungsoo shook his head slowly, the man on the screen, officer Andrewson, still begging to stay alive. Kai cocked his head and raised his eyebrow as if he was saying 'you're seriously going against my order'. Had anyone else given him that look Kyungsoo would've just ignored them, but Kai had the gift of being able to make everything he did frightening. So he read.
"You have to erm... find the antidote to the poison... you have injected into your system, and erm... oh, it's inside of the wall. What the-" He hesitated and looked at Kai, a mix of anger, fear and disgust on his face. Kai mouthed 'tick-tock tick-tock' and moved his fingers as if they where clock-hands. Kai slowly continued, "you have to find it before you die from the poison or burn to death."
It was horrible to see the man suffer. The only reason he was here was because of Kyungsoo. If another officer had arrested his father he wouldn't be here. Of course, someone else would be there, someone else who would have, no doubt about it, also been innocent. Hours had passed and the man still hadn't found anything. He was getting significantly slower. It was clear that the poison had started doing its job. He didn't have much time left, Kyungsoo knew. "Please let me help him." He asked for what felt like the millionth time. Kai just shook his head, smiled and shifted his attention back to the screen.
Then everything happened in the span of two seconds. The man collapsed, the burning match fell to the ground and the room went up in flames. He was dead.
