She couldn't breathe, but that wasn't her main concern. Step after step. Second after second. She was trying the best she could to run away, to keep a safe distance. However, Lauren knew she was being tailed, and there was no getting away.

Lauren quickly looked over her shoulder, which she soon regretted. It slowed her down, and just enough to be tackled to the ground. She lost, and Lauren knew that.

"Got ya!" Dinah yelled triumphantly, doing a little victory dance while still on Lauren's back.

"Damn it," Lauren mumbled into the ground, accepting defeat.

Dinah rolled off of Lauren's back, staying seated on the soft grass. She was out of breath, too, taking in heavy breaths to try and calm her racing heart. Leaning back on her hands, Dinah tilted her head to look up at the sky. There was a pinkish-orange tint to it, signaling that the end of the day was nearing.

Lauren rolled over on her back, looking up at Dinah and seeing her staring at the sky. She kept her longing stare on Dinah, secretly admiring her flawless features.

"I love this time of day," Dinah breathed out.

"Same," Lauren mindlessly agreed.

Dinah glanced down at Lauren, seeing her laying on her back and looking up back at her. Lauren's cheeks puffed out in a cute, innocent smile, causing Dinah's heart to flutter. She smiled back at her girlfriend, wondering how she got so lucky to have fallen in love with her life-long best friend. Dinah kept that thought to herself, however, and decided to joke with Lauren.

Dinah smirked, "You lost, by the way."

Lauren rolled her eyes, "You got lucky, babe."

"Yeah right," Dinah scoffed. "I won, fair and square."

"We both know I'm faster, Dinah," Lauren deadpanned.

"Then how come I caught you?"

"You got lucky."

"Or maybe because I'm faster when we're sober," Dinah determined, causing Lauren to reflect on the thought for a couple seconds.

"We've played it sober before, and I beat you then, too," Lauren narrowed her eyes at Dinah.

"Lo, we were kids," Dinah deadpanned. "And I always beat you back then, too."

"I won sometimes!" Lauren defended.

"Only when I let you," Dinah smirked.

Lauren scoffed, not believing the taller girl, "Yeah right."

"Just admit it, I'm more athletic than you."

"I mean yeah, obviously, but I'm way better at this game."

"It's just tag, babe," Dinah giggled. "And we mainly only play when we're high now."

Lauren shrugged, "Because it's more fun when high."

"No," Dinah denied, amusingly narrowing her eyes at Lauren once again. "It's because it's the only game you can beat me at when we're high."

"It's not my fault weed makes me faster," Lauren smirked.

"No shit," Dinah sarcastically snorted. "It just makes me really slow."

Lauren cheekily smiled up at Dinah, a devious glint glowing in her green eyes. Dinah knew what was coming, having seen this face a million times before.

"Want to test this theory out?" Lauren's head slightly tilted to the side, a smirk slowly growing on her pink lips.

Dinah's own mouth curved up into a mischievous smile. "Let's go."
