My mouth hung open as I watched Xiumin step forward and embrace Luhan into a tight hug.
They both let out a small chuckle when they realized that Luhan had stained Xiumin's crisp white shirt, and smiled fondly at each other before turning their attention back to me.
"You two..." I managed to ask, my eyes still vacantly blank as I struggled to understand. "... Know each other?"
Xiumin and Luhan turned to each other, before the shorter of the two raised his brows and stared at me in confusion.
"You two know each other?" He also asked, pointing his finger to gesture between us.
I nodded, but it was Luhan who answered as he flashed a sheepish smile, "Yes, we do."
I nodded once again and was about to voice my own questions when I felt my phone buzz furiously in my pockets.
I groaned, already taking a guess as to who it could be as Xiumin pressed his lips into an understanding smile.
"Go," he urged. "We can all catch up later... I'm definitely curious."
"How about dinner?" Luhan suggested. "The three of us should meet up for dinner later tonight."
"Sounds good to me," Xiumin said, nodding his head in agreement as Luhan flashed me a smile.
I paused as I scanned my eyes slowly over his face, wondering what the chances were for him to once again show up in my life.
He had changed since I had last seen him - his features were obviously older. His hair was no longer blonde, but a very light brown - his eyes, however, had remained the same. The large doe-like eyes held the same twinkles of amusement and his smile was one I definitely remembered.
I blushed when I realized that he too, was also observing me - while Xiumin coughed awkwardly and raised his brow at us.
"R-right, dinner." I stuttered. "Yeah, sounds good to me too."
"Great!" Xiumin said excitedly, already grabbing a hold of my wrist to lead to me the cafe doors. "I'll text you the time and place, hurry up and go before you lose your job!"
I let myself be dragged my Xiumin as I helplessly turned to Luhan and flashed him an apologetic smile.
"Again, I'm so sorry about your shirt."
"Don't worry about it," he assured, giving me a small wave as I paused by the door. "It's... It's really good to see you again, Haemi."
I managed to nod before Xiumin pushed me out of his shop, finding myself out in the streets as I blinked slowly and tried to organize my thoughts.
Not only did I somehow manage to meet Luhan again, but he and Xiumin knew each other?
They seemed to be more than acquaintances, good friends even, from the way they had greeted each other.
Another buzz from my pockets snapped me out of my daze as I took a deep breath and began to hurriedly make my way to work.
"You. Are. Late."
I winced at Kris' tone, not daring to look up as I chewed my lip and clutched my purse.
"I'm sorr-"
"And with no donuts to appease me this time..."
I blinked, wondering if I had heard the playful remark right as I slowly raised my eyes to meet his gaze.
