Long Story: I was bored and multitasking. You know, doing homework while staring at the mirror. Yeah it happens. It's not my fault my mirror is there... RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. Then I got this email and I jumped because I was soooo into the mirror. :) And I made a deal and officially dragged myself to Hell.
Short Story: I'm joining Camp NaNoWriMo... in June... or August. Something like that. I don't know what occurred to me, but I decided to accept the challenge.
50,000 words... what the freak was I thinking?!?!?
So I've decided to do a Chick Lit.
I actually got this idea from Two Way Street, this amazing, amazing book that I fell in love with.
Anyways, I'm starting this story probably in June!!!! <----- see those exclamation points.. those are lies. :)
Well I hope you guys like it :)
Synopsis:
Courtney dumped Mason—whether it was for talking to inanimate objects or for some random guy in her gym class (well at least that’s what she claimed). But here’s the thing: they were in love; they were a couple with secrets, but nevertheless things worked out… for a while. And now life for these two isn’t easy especially when they work in the same bookstore and goes to the same high school. Seeing each other 24/7 just doesn’t help the situation.
So here's a summary:
Mason is ignoring Courtney.
And Courtney is pretending not to care.
But she does. A lot.
Let’s just say Courtney isn’t the only one hiding some dirty little secrets.
Excerpt:
I took in a deep breath and closed my eyes as if I was meditating. “I’m breaking up with you,” I said in one big breath.
Mason’s head snapped up his eyes wide with shock. “What?”
He just can’t make this any easier, can he? “We need a break,” I whispered. “I need a break.”
He doesn’t say anything for a moment. “Why?” his voice so soft and quiet.
I froze. Oh shit, he wasn’t supposed to ask that. I ran my hand through my straight brown hair and groaned mentally. “Um… because you talk to,” I stuttered when my eyes landed on the heater. “Because you talk to inanimate objects.
He frowned. “What? When I did I do that?”
I felt like choking him at the moment as I threw my hands up in the air. “You named your freaking car Wanda,” I said exasperatedly.
“So?”
You can do this. You can do this.
NO, I can’t do this.
“Mason,” I said as I paced around the spot I was standing on. “I—I’m sorry. I don’t think we’re going to work out.”
“Because I named my car Wanda?”
I needed to run away and scream for God’s sake. “No, you—you just don’t get it,” I said unable to look at him in the eyes.
“Tell me,” he urged and placed his hand under my chin lifting my head up, so our eyes met. “Look me in the eyes and tell me what the problem is.”
Taking in another deep breath, I whispered, “I fell in love with another guy… in my gym class.”
