I lightly drummed my fingers across my desk while my eyes watched the clock, ignoring the noise of my classmates as I sat slumped in my seat.
My peers avoided my gaze as I let out a small sigh while scuffing the heel of my sneaker across the floor and leaning back into my chair. Noise elevated as excited chatter broke out into the class when a bell rang, signaling break time.
Finally.
The second my teacher left, my head hit my desk as I easily tuned out the chatter around me.
Burying my head in my arms, I closed my eyes as the sudden noise around me faded.
"Lee Kyungmi," a voice called. "Get up."
Just lazily raising my head halfway even seemed to be strenuous as I blinked to focus my sights.
Without bothering to fully open my eyes, I sighed in annoyance at the sight of Kim Minhee and her two friends.
She narrowed her eyes as she folded her arms, waiting for me to acknowledge her.
"Hey I'm talking to you." She hissed after realizing I was only going to stare at her blankly.
I blinked again, rubbing my eyes as I let out a small yawn. The act only infuriated Minhee further, causing her brows to furrow in anger as she whispered to one of her friends.
"Rooftop. Now." She sneered before turning abruptly around to stroll out of the classroom.
Her friends followed behind, as my classmates immediately began whispering amongst each other as they peered over at me. I let out another annoyed sigh before I scoot my seat back to stand up. Shoving my hands in my pockets, the students cleared the way, following me as I made my way to the school rooftop.
A small crowd had already gathered, only growing larger when I arrived. Minhee stood in the middle of the rooftop, her arms crossed as she watched me approach with a menacing smirk.
"You must not know the rules yet," She hissed. "But this is my school."
I slid my hands into my jacket pockets as I blankly met her gaze.
"Look, I don't want to fight. Why can't you just leave me alone?"
She scoffed, "Scared? Just how stupid are you? Do you even understand a word I'm saying?"
Sure.
Yes.
Whatever.
Just shut up and let me go back to my nap.
Minhee's eyes narrowed at my silence and scoffed before she curled a finger towards me.
"You've already been here for two weeks and all you do is ignore everyone like the freak you are... Do you even know who our parents are? What kind of families we come from? I guess I'll have to teach you how things are run around here."
I yawned as the crowd drew back, clearing space as she gestured me to come forward. The sooner this ends, the sooner I can sleep. I swiftly threw my jacket to the ground and rolled up my sleeves before stepping forward.
Her eyes slightly widened when she heard the sound of my cracking knuckles, her stance faltering as I grew closer.
I never make the first move.
Hesitation flickered across her eyes until she eyed the crowd and lunged herself towards me. I lazily stepped out of the way as she hit the cement, moving my foot away when she tried to grab my ankle. She hissed as she quickly shot up, one hand reaching out for my hair while the other curled into a fist and aimed for my stomach.
