what arden didn't know about him was for her benefit. truthfully, elliot was terrified that she would find out about his secret. about his disorder.
ever since middle school, elliot was self-conscious about his body. he would often change his outfit more than once each morning, just because he was afraid of how he looked to everyone else.
too fat, his face was out of proportion, he was too tall; they were all things he feared every passing moment.
soon, it got worse. eventually, elliot couldn't see the beauty of himself anymore. behind his baggy clothes and blue eyes, he was scared.
he was broken.
as the years passed by, elliot began to lose sight of what was really important. he started eating less, pushing himself harder, and started becoming something he wished he wasn't.
elliot was bulimic.
and he feared that he would lose arden if she ever found out.
