Hey Baby Girl,

So I have no idea when your mother plans on giving this to you but I hope I'm in time to give you advice. I told her to give this to you whenever she thought you were ready. That must be now. Before I get into all of that though, I would like to say hi. So hi, my princess. I had to leave you at a young age, not by choice, I assure you. I have no idea if you have memories of me or not but i can help with some things. My favorite band is the Beatles. My favorite color is red. Do you really want to read all about me? Well I'll tell you more at the end of this, I wanna say the important stuff first. I have no idea how old you are at this time, if you're married,  if you're a parent, if you've done great things or if you're even happy. I want what every father wants; I want you to be happy and safe. I hope you fall in love. I hope you fall in love with someone who sees galaxies in your eyes and hears symphonies in your heartbeat. I hope you fall in love with someone who makes you feel safe and secure. I hope you fall in love with someone who holds your hand during the scary parts of movies and burns cookies with you when you're too busy dancing in the kitchen to remember they're being cooked in the first place. But beyond all that, I want you to fall in love with someone who will never take you for granted. Someone who will stand by you whenever you're right and whenever you're wrong. Listen, baby, whether you're right or wrong, there will be an answer and you'll just have to let it be. Fall in love with someone who has seen you at your worst and has still loves you. Someone who kisses you in the rain and hugs you in the cold and wouldn't have it any other way. It's hard to imagine you, my little girl, falling in love, but it's bound to happen. It might've already happened. Whoever they may be, whether male or female, a tree, orange, green, white or black, i don't care who they are, as long as they make you happy. Only then I approve. Baby, whenever you love someone, age, height, weight and miles are just numbers. Just make sure you love them with all of your being. Don't let anybody tell you, you can't do something or that you're not capable. Don't let anybody tell you, you're not good enough or make you feel bad about yourself. Don't let anybody take you for granted or manipulate you. Don't let anybody tell you that them hitting you or abusing you, is love because it's not. Don't let anybody downgrade your worth. You can do anything you put your mind to.  The last time I talked to you, you had on Winnie The Pooh pajamas and chocolate all over your face. You told me you wanted to be a teacher. You wanted to teach the ants that lived outside on our porch to dance. That still true? You were also four at the time so it's probably changed. BabyGirl, I don't care if you have tons of homework left or a report to do, if your friend is upset, go give them a hug. If your significant other is upset, go talk to them. Spend time with your family whenever possible. You can't push life off for later. I'll always be proud of you. Do what you love. Don't do it for any other reason. Baby, I love you so much. My favorite book is To Kill A Mockingbird. My favorite quote is,"The strongest people are not those who show strength in front of us but those who win battles we know nothing about." I'm not sure who said it but baby, I don't know what you've been through by the time you're reading this, but you're strong. I know you are. A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor so just ride the waves, baby. Whenever you find love, make sure they're the one before making anything permanent. I believe when two people are in love with each other, you can see it in their eyes. The way they look at each other, the way they stare at each other, it's all there. Their eyes twinkle, their eyes are smiling. Even if they didn't say a word about it, there's this tinvisible thread connecting them. So when you think  you've found the one, look into their eyes, Love, they'll tell you everything.

Be careful. Be safe. Be weird. Be careless.

But most importantly, be happy.

I love you, Lauren.

Love your father,

Michael Jauregui
