Chapter Nine

As I was walking through the hallways of the school, I soon laid eyes upon her. Serena; the most beautiful student in the school... And the love of my life...

Okay, you can do this! If you do it like you've practiced, everything should turn out just fine.

Roses, a card, and a special invention in my hands, I nervously walked up to Serena, who was talking with May; another popular student.

"Serena?" I said, while lightly taping her shoulder.

Serena turned to me.

"Who are you? And what do you want?" Serena asked a bit harshly.

She must've not slept well. Poor thing.

"Well, I want to give you a few things. Plus, I have something important to tell you." I said, while holding out the roses and the card.

"The roses already have their thorns trimmed. And the card holds a hand-written poem that I wrote about your beauty. And this invention can make your clothes change colors, so you can make tons of outfit combinations." I said, while handing Serena my newest invention.

"Clemont... You're too sweet." Serena said.

"Also...I must confess that I love you and... I need to know if you love me too..." I said, blushing like crazy.

"Can you give me a bit to think about it? This is too much for me to process all at once." Serena asked.

"Of course. I'll await your answer." I said, before leaving.

Yes! I did it!

As I was walking to my next class, I saw someone talking to Serena... And I couldn't help but hide, and overhear their conversation.

"I can't believe that that nerd actually likes you." Calem said.

"Well, who wouldn't like me? I'm fabulous!" Serena said.

"Well, that's true. What will you do about him then?" Calem asked.

"Oh, I'll just use him to get straight A+'s. I mean, who could possibly not take advantage of the smarted student in school? Trust, he is a freak, but it's worth it to 'love' him to get perfect grades." Serena said.

I couldn't believe what I was hearing... Serena... She... Just wants to use me...?

Quickly, I ran off.

How could I be so stupid, to think that someone could possibly like me back...?!

I then felt myself falling into a black hole. When I opened my eyes, I saw students pointing their fingers at me, and laughing. And the one in the front was Serena.

"Look at the crying nerd! Does someone need their mommy?" Serena said, before laughing some more.

Please... Make this stop...

I then shot up right. As I looked around, I saw that I was in my bed. I also felt tears running down my face.

... I was all just a nightmare...

I haven't had a nightmare in a while; especially about my last crush. True, not everything was the exact same; but that was pretty much how it went. I confessed, learned that Serena wanted to use me, and had my heart shattered, and became an outcast for liking Serena too much.

... No wonder I hate the popular crowd...

A thought then came to my mind.

... Is it safe for me to have a crush on Ash?...

Despite becoming popular, Ash is not like the other students, in a good way. He has a good heart.

I then looking at my phone, to see that it was five minutes before I was supposed to get up.

Just great! I lost five minutes of precious sleep!

I sighed, before getting out of bed, and proceeding to get ready for school.

After showering, getting dressed, brushing my teeth, etc., I packed everything that I needed into my backpack, and headed towards the kitchen to make breakfast for Bonnie and I.

When I arrived in the kitchen, Bonnie was waiting for me.

"It's about time you got here; I'm starving!" Bonnie complained.

"Good morning to you too." I sarcastically said, before preparing eggs for Bonnie and I.

After finishing breakfast, I quickly ate it, before putting my shoes on.

"Bonnie, you need to get on the bus on time. I don't want to hear that you missed the bus again." I lectured.

"Okay... Mom!" Bonnie sarcastically said.

What is Bonnie's deal this morning!?

Sighing to myself, I exited the house, and headed towards school.

Wonder what awaits me today...?
