Chapter 7: The First Sword [1]

Shen Zuobi woke up and for the first time since he was born could he actually see the new world he would be living in from now on.

He was laying on a bed, or rather a baby crib. Above him was things tied to multiple strings just like on Earth except the things tied on the strings were, unusual.

There were toys resembling a sword, a bow, a staff, a skeleton head, a king's crown, a lightning bolt, and one that was just a square block. It was completely black.

Shen Zuobi could also see a chandelier in the middle of the room that was as big as a bathtub and as bright as forest fire.

'Hm... this is weird. The common sense isn't the same as it would be on Earth, especially the skeleton head floating above me.'

Wanting to see more of this extraordinary, in a weird way, room, Shen Zuobi turned his head to the left.

The moment he did, his eyes met with another pair. They were glimmering of green. It was shining almost as if they were emeralds.

The owner of those eyes was a little girl that looked only 7. She had a dark gradient of black hair that resembled the pitch darkness that only the horrific of nights could provide.

"Oh my gosh. Mother! Little Zuobi has woken up. He's so cute." The girl was someone that was close in blood. Most likely his sister or his cousin based off of Shen Zuobi's analysis.

She pinched his cheeks and was smiling the whole time.

After a few moments Shen Zuobi heard another set of footsteps entering the room.

"Shen Liqin dear, let go of your little brother's cheeks before he starts crying." She walked up to the crib and stood right next to Shen Liqin, Shen Zuobi's big sister.

Replying to her mother, Shen Liqin said, "Okay mother but little Zuobi doesn't seem to be showing any signs of crying, being annoyed, or mad."

Shen Zuobi's mother picked him up and chuckled a tiny bit. "You're right. Oh who's Mommy's little warrior? That's right you are."

She held him really tight with love and care. Even though it was extremely small, Shen Zuobi could see a small tear at the edge of her left eye.

Shen Zuobi for a strange reason knew that this tear wasn't of sadness rather of happiness.

Seeing this, Shen Zuobi suddenly had a blast of happiness attack his heart and he could feel a strange warmth entering his body.

He had a sense of familiarity almost as if he knew her since forever. He felt a tear in his eyes forming.

'No no no. I can't cry already. I don't even know her. But I feel like I do.' Shen Zuobi pushed his tears back in and stared into the eyes of his mother while she did the same.

Unknowingly, Shen Zuobi grabbed his mother as tight as he could. He didn't want to let go.

The reason so was back on Earth, his mother died when he was little so every time there was a school event involving mothers, his father always went instead.

Although he didn't have it bad, his father was great, it was difficult for him growing up without mother's love.

The closest thing he had to it was his aunt that came over once a week.

Shen Zuobi didn't want to lose this mother either.

'I swear on the grave of my old mother that I will no matter what, keep my mother happy and to protect her from all danger.'
