Phil's perspective
Outside, it was a summer day that I would've probably really enjoyed as a child- warm, the sun shining, but a hint of crisp wind that made sure we didn't die of heatstroke or something of the sort. I smiled at the weather as Dan turned to me, looking down on me. Two inches really do count when you're over six foot tall, as much as I dislike it. "Any ideas on where we're going?" I asked him, his brown eyes like dark chocolate melted into shape. I smiled at them.
"Well, since you're somewhat all pastel today," I heard the genuine nature of his voice. It made me smile. "I suppose we could fit the theme and go to the flower shop down the corner." I smiled a bit further at that, it seemed like the perfect thing for Dan and Phil to do. Dan and Phil go to the flower shop. Maybe not Logan Paul-worthy content, but our viewers might enjoy it.
"Let's do it!" I saw him almost smile, and though I kept on my signature expression it did crack for a moment. What I would do to see him properly grin for once. My eyes focused on the street ahead as our shoes hit the floor- and we saw a variety of people walk by. Just another average day. I kept walking blindly, humming the tune to some song I didn't really remember the words to.
"Phil, we're here." I stopped short at Dan's voice and turned back around to see that I had passed the doors by a few feet as he held them. I mouthed a thank you to him as we came in, and suddenly we were greeted by our new surroundings.
Lush displays of roses, daisies, forget-me-nots, lilies, and i-forgot-the-names were in small woven baskets on the walls. Some of them were by color, others handpicked, and some just for creating your own bouquet. It was a relatively quaint, small and private place. The floors were a friendly sort of shade of wood that seemed to say hello. It was very welcoming.
"Hello, and welcome to Iris." a voice said from behind us, and we both whipped around to see a woman- relatively short with dark brown hair and green eyes, looking at us straight. She smiled and laughed a bouncy sort of thing. I gave her back my best awkward smile too. Dan was probably doing the same. "How can I help you today?"
I shrugged, not sure. Plans aren't my strong suit. "We're just browsing." Dan said quickly, and I nodded in agreement. In return, she only laughed the same cheery laugh. She seemed relatively young, maybe an internship. It occurred to me that she might've heard of our videos for a second, and though that was something I didn't keep private, it's sort of weird finding the phandom in places you didn't expect. I already anticipated her next question.
"So, are you dating or married?" Nevermind, that was not at all what I was expecting. I felt my cheeks turn pink- and probably Dan's too. I checked, and I was right; His cheeks were basically pale red- pink didn't describe it. "Don't cry, craft! Is practically my motto" She smiled and started to go to the back- I raised an eyebrow and looked at Dan. I was petrified in some way, but also slightly amused in another.
"You just can't escape the Phamily, Phil." Dan said, and I nodded at him. It was impossible. I adjusted my hair and walked around, looking at the flowers. It was certainly more awkward considering the helpful dilema that is that we were at a flower shop. We drifted awkwardly for a few minutes and then she came back out, holding a bouquet of red roses, and her phone up to a YouTube video. I leaned in to the video even though my cheeks looked as if they were painted red with blush.
"Oh for god's sake," I heard Dan whisper as he looked at the title; Dan Howell, watch this. Her laugh floated through the room for a quick moment and I looked at both of them weirdly. His brown hair seemed to tint towards me in a way before suddenly it occurred to me that perhaps I should vocally ask them what was going on, because I actually did feel a bit left out. Dan seemed to notice and his eyes melted into brown puddles of melted chocolate for a moment. "I've seen it." She kept it playing for me. A clip of Dan that was referenced every two da- oh, and clips of me. Flattering, and scary, how the phandom was.
"So, what do you want us to do?" I said, as this total stranger who knows a lot about my life, was the one now pulling the strings. "I mean, the flowers are nice. Thank you. How much are they?"
"A promise." Christ, we've already promised too many things. I adjusted my fringe nervously. Bad habit that I usually didn't have.
"I'm interested, go on," Dan spoke up, and I felt as if two high brow businessmen were discussing a million dollar trade whilst their young son watched on. Not like Dan's my dad. Daddy Danyul or something. He'd cringe so much at that.. I smiled.
"Go out on a date, outside." She checked her fingernails timidly, though she looked like she had painted them with blood. White blood. "Film it."
Dan's eyebrows narrowed. I know very well how much of a cheapskate he was, but in honesty I didn't know what he'd say to this. He looked at me for a moment, smiled a bit and then held out his hand.
"Deal." They both said simultaneously, and though I was a bit irritated I didn't have a say in it, I didn't mind.
