Twigbark calmly padded alongside the two warriors, feeling confident. Greendasher was mostly silent, but Willowfur seemed full of questions. Twigbark answered many questions throughout the small amount of time they had journeyed together, and when they reached the Juniperclan border, she seemed disappointed.
"Thank you two very much, may Starclan light your path." He purred, turning to the two. They nodded their heads.
"Starclan light your path!" Willowfur purred, turning away with Greendasher. Twigbark began heading towards Roseclan territory, the familiar rose scent filling his nose. It was a comforting feeling. As he reached the border, he froze.
"What are you doing here?!" An angry tom called. Twigbark had no trouble recognizing the voice as Maplestorm, his real father. He spun to face the brown tabby, and flinched when he realized how big the tabby was up close. He felt like a mouse compared to him.
"Why.. why are you in Juniperclan territory?" He could hear the hesitation in the toms hiss, and at that moment, Twigbark knew he knew.
"I'm just returning to Roseclan, I was almost killed by Witherclan, but rescued by Iceclan." Twigbark explained. Maplestorm seemed to soften, showing an unreadable expression.
"Go on then, but don't let me catch you again." Maplestorm said before turning and disappearing into some nearby bushes. Twigbark sighed deeply, and continued on his way home.

As Twigbark was almost to camp, a different shape approached him with great speed. It was Applepaw.
"Twigbark! You're alive!!" The tom said with confusion and excitement. Twigbark nodded.
"I was saved by Iceclan. Witherclan almost killed me." He said. Applepaw just seemed more ecstatic.
"I told everyone you wouldn't be dead! I knew you were strong! Come back to camp, there's something very important!" Applepaw seemed to be talking too fast, and he rushed back to camp before Twigbark could question him. Twigbark followed, but was overwhelmed by cats as he raced into camp.
"Twigbark! You're alive!"
"Fluffytail needs to see you now!"
"I can't believe it!"
The cats seemed to be hurrying him to the medicine cat den, and he tumbled in. Fluffytail and Springpaw turned, and Fluffytail shot up immediately.
"Twigbark! Thank Starclan you're back. I have important news." Fluffytail said excitedly, but with caution. Twigbark stood up, and tilted his head.
"You are going to become the new leader of Roseclan."
