Linda's POV:

The day was perfect so far. It was nearly Christmas and some of the residents of the square had decided to do a pantomine to get everyone in the festive spirit as well as raise money to keep the community center open. Louise Mitchell, Beks, Shaki, Steven and even my Mick was in it. My gorgeous Mick, playing the handsome Prince. He had always been my handsome prince. He was my whole world. The pantomine was well under way when my phone rang. It was a private number. I thought it was one of them cold callers, you know, so I ignored it and carried on watching. Two seconds later, the private number had rung again. I ignored it. It then rung again. I decided to answer it to tell them to stop ringing me. However, when I answered I did not expect to hear what I heard....

Mick's POV:

At first, I thought everyone was off their nut when they decided to do a panto, you know, for Christmas. When they first asked me, I said no and told them they were off their nut. I eventually came round after L kept doing me nut in and begging me to do it. I thought I would be a small character and that the panto would be a load of pony. Turns out they wanted me to be the Handsome Price. I decided to do it. All through the show, I saw L looking at me and just smiling. I could tell she was proud of me. I could see that what I was doing was making her happy and that's all I care about. L. My L. My whole world and then some. While I was off stage, I saw L answer her phone. When she put the phone down, all I could see was tears streaming down her face. Something was wrong. My L is never like that. I had to see what was wrong.

"Mick?"

"L? You okay baby? What's the matter?"

"It's mom.."

"Yeah, Elaine, what's up with her? Another toy boy let her down?" I joked. Elaine had always fancied toy boys. But they were always breaking her heart.

"She's ill, like seriously ill Mick. She's had a stroke.." The tears were streaming down her face. I pulled her close into my chest, put my arms around her and hugged her for as long as I could just so she would know that I was there for her.

Elaine has always been a fighter. She's always been healthy, never had a problem wrong with her. A stroke? She had a stroke? I couldn't understand it. It was going around in my nut.

"I need to go to her Mick. She needs me more than ever now"

"I know baby. Go to her. Help her get better."

"I better go now. I need to pack and get the train. I'm sorry Mick. I'll be back soon. Look after the kids and the pub. Don't do anything stupid. I love you so much."

"I love you too, baby."

L's face was soaked with tears. I knew she had to go. I pulled her in, kissed her then said bye. She would be back soon. She'll only be gone a month max.

Linda's POV:

I kissed Mick and said bye. I had to go. I couldn't leave my mom in a hospital with a bunch of strangers. I packed my suitcase and caught the next train to Watford. I don't know how long I will be gone. I couldn't promise Mick I would be back within a week. I love him, he's my world, he'll cope, no matter how long i'm gone.
